Sorry if this is a lame question....
actually, under racing conditions, piston engine and rotary engine gets about the same gas mileage....

Sweet Video

My question is why doesn't Mazda make more use of that in their marketing communications plan? 'The Soul of a Sportscar' doesn't go far enough.

....

in fact under race condition the 4 rotor get's better fuel milage than pistons of similar power, thats how the 787b won, the jaguars were aheat and had to pit for fuel, and the mercedes that where the fastter cars had to pit more ofthen and blew up.

I think I read somewhere the gas mileage for the 26B at Le Mans was 4.6 mpg.

I also think that's better than the typical 900hp, 19,000 rpm F1 10-banger boinger. :D

I seem to remember watching the Le Mans race last year and them saying that an F1 car got 2.5ish MPG and the Audi R8 was getting 4ish. Of corse the R8 was only making 550 HP not 900. Anyone confirm or refute this?

Missinmaseven, BTW, I am #968.

If that link is for the 787B video, it's not working for me. Do you have to be a member to access it?

Not to mention the LeMans cars are slipperier than the F1 rigs.. less drag.

You mean your shinka is #968... or are you a convict?

JUST KIDDING!

My Shinka.

No, not because of Kinomoto-san. I guess I lose points for not knowing who that is?

As you might already know, sakura is japanese for cherry blossom.

Good job Miss, you got us off topic. I can hear the police sirens.

Anyone working on posting that vid? I have done a lot of Internet searching and cannot find the whole thing.
