I'm feeling a little blue

Last year I bought the led footwell set Rotary Rasp was selling.

This year I followed up with the interior light & map light sets from rx8strakes.com

I love the interior lights, and it was cheap & easy to do. It's like getting into a UFO at night.

Dome light & door lights were dead simple: pop off the cover & replace the bulb. the hardest part was pulling the wicked hot bulb out of the door socket. Map lights you have to drop the sunroof control console out, but that's really easy too (take out 2 screws, pry a clip, done). the foot well set was somewhat involved, and you spend a lot of time in really uncomfortable positions on your back. that one probably took me about an hour.

Note - careful on the door lights - the front clear cover keeps the whole thing rigid. Once you take it off, it's very easy to push the bulb holder part into the door cavity.

Light go bye-bye, ask me how I know.......

^^^ that's a PAIN in the *** to get back! you either have to yank on the corner of the door panel and hope you don't break it or you do the rational thing and take the WHOLE dooor panel off.

I have a blue footwell led kit sitting in my bedroom...I'm just too lazy to install it.

Lighting is a good easy 1st mod to do. Cheap, and the results are fantastic.

aside from the dome light, map lights, and door lights, what Lumen LED is good to get for the floor LEDs? i'm looking to do it in my car and i'm good with electronics, can etch a PC board quickly and assemble it, just need to know whats a good lumen for LED to use on the floor?

I've got a few LED's laying around all pure white, but I would never think of using them on the floor boards. They're all 340 lumen each and 170 lumen. I don't wanna blind myself.

Would a 40 lumen LED work well enough?

The footwell lighting came from Rotary Rasp (see www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=118507) but I don't think he's selling them anymore.

From rx8strakes came the 'Interior lighting' set and the 'Map light set'

I stand corrected. I totally endorse his product. Price was good, installation was easy, and the directions included quite clear.
If you look at the earlier thread I linked above I did make a slight modification to the drivers side mounting, as I had some concerns about the board rubbing on the steering shaft. See my post here: https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=383
