Sorry to hear of your dilema , before i break hard i allways check my rear view mirror knowing the fast braking abilities of the RX8 that other cars cannot match specially older cars and SUVs , lightly taping the brake pedal before hard braking hopefully sends the message for the vehicles behind you to start braking .

Distance both front and rear from other vehicles is your best friend .
