I have the red one as well. I just keep it at the house on display next to my bell helmet. It's a bummer that these cars aren't too fast and they can't be upgraded...ie engine.

Acceleration is good. Good range for the transmitter. I bought also the replica(Smaller and heavier)and is Titanium Grey. You can see 2 tanks of nitrous and an excellent stereo system. I also bought the Miniature(Hotwheel)Version. They come in different colors.
You think I like the RX8?, I love them.

If you want to put a "turbo" into your electric RC racer, place a 9v battery inline. For ease of changing, buy a connector at radio shack and solder that in place. Then you can put a new 9v in easier. One thing tho, this may reduce the life life of the motors.
We did this to a couple of cheap r/c cars on deployment, had them drag racing up and down the passageway in the barracks. The 9v about doubled their speed and halfed the battery life. Note to self, make sure you duct tape the battery onto the car, if you crash/suddenly change direction, the 9v may go flying and break the connection.

No worries, I am pretty sure that the Kyosho models are no longer made. It's kind of cool to hear that some other company is making 3rd gen models though!
