Lightbulb

must confess it's not too detailed but the red is Panic, grey is "Lock", black is Unlock and the white block is actually a picture of a car with the trunk opened! Ya know, you could've just used the search button for pix like these!

that's not my hand by the way!

Actually, the grey is "Lock", and the black is "Unlock", but you get the general idea.

How do you use the panic button?

Japanese remote control has no button like that.

uhhh....i want that key for my RX-8. The Japanese one is awesome. If somebody wants to make a lot of money they could go buy a bunch in Japan and sell them to people here in the US. I bet they will work...just need to get cut properly. That key is awesome

in this day and age i would have hoped for an integrated key/alarm controller.

all the german manufacturers seem to have got the hang of them.

Oh. I understand now what the red button is for.
I was not familiar to the car security. I think most of Japanese cars including RX-8 in Japan has no security system as standard.
So, I have not seen the remote controller with such a red button.

Seems like each 'region' gets a different key-type as well as hp

What are we likely to get over here in the UK?

Toyota keys over here are all single-unit key and remote alarm/imobiliser/central lock in one. Much neater!

I found the same option in Australian site. I think it is easier to import the key from Australia than Japan because there will be no language barrier.

The japanese remote is the same as the Australian. Also, all the preorder customers in Oz get a colour matched key like the one shown as a gift. I'm waiting for mine... should get it in the next few days.

63 US dollars for a key that should have come standard? come on mazda. That illuminated shifter is sweet too but not worth 400 bucks ... would rather have a new exhaust. If my conversions are wrong tell me because those numbers seem a little steep.

According to Mazda (I called), the keys from other regions will not work in the US Mazda's because of the anti-theft devices. In fact, no key will work at all, except for the ones supplied by Mazda. We lose. Lots.

Hopefully they will come out with ones for the US. I want to have a different looking key for my RX-8 then every other Mazda car. RX-8 is like no other car then the key should be too. Ohh well :o. Not really a big deal...i guess i will have to get a kick *** keychain thing.

something like this
