At least it wasn't on purpose. In my last car (Prelude) I had one guy who took exception to my passing him, so he came up behind me at a light and smacked my rear bumper. If I didn't have a good grip on the brakes I woulda hit the guy in front of me. So I pulled over and he flipped me the bird and took off. All I know is that it was a pearl-white Honda, didn't even get the model.

Well, it goes in the shop the week of Christmas. It took awhile for the adjuster to get out to give me an estimate and a okay for the repair. Could not get an accurate quote because the model is not in the quote system. The guy at the body shop said not to worry that he would take care of it. He said that he would be replacing both doors. Estimated that it will take 5 days for the repair.

I've seen work from the shop so I feel like they will do a good job. The shop is acutally on the premise of the dealership's BMW/Porche/Mercedes lot.

I'll be sure to post a pic or two of the work when done.

Thanks guys!

Glad to hear you weren't seriously hurt by that horrific accident and sorry to see your car in that shape . I can't believe he sped off like that. Anyone with a hint of conscience would have stopped. Goodluck with finding that jerk that done that to you. That person should be stonned to death :p hehe it's only fair!

that definately sucks someone also hit and run my rx-8 but it doesn't look bad as yours does. someone hit mine in the left rear wheel causing a big dent on the side right above the wheels.

Well, here are a couple of photos...not great due to it being late in the evening. I am just glad to have her back in one piece. Now I can start modding starting with those orange turn signals...

JHouse: As for the speed of impact, I was going about 10-15 MPH while the guy that hit me was going est. 25-30 MPH.

Both doors and the kickplate were completely replaced. Total job cost was almost $3,000.00.

Glad you got it back...looks great. It's horror stories like this that make me wonder if I should lower my collision insurance coverage. I carry a $1K deductible so if this ever happened to me, god forbid, I'd be out $1K.

It's hard to imagine that the guy that hit you wouldn't have significant damage. Don't body shops in your area cooperate and in the case or reported hit and runs, report any suspicious vehicle?

You would think the body shops would but I guess not since the officer that handled the report pretty much said that if they did not get him that night the chances of finding him later were slim to none.

Thanks HIX8, I'm getting there. It is just nice that I don't have to worry about the body work any more.

Good Luck with it man! That is a new owner's worst nightmare! At least no one was hurt.
