Okay, since I cheated I'll post a real picture. Very candid - me looking like an idiot trying to set up the car to hug me while the photographer tries not to drop her camera in the mud as she laughs out loud at me - all so I could contribute to abbid's thread:
This is a nice pic too! I love candids. It looks like you're showing someone how to slam the door on themselves.

I am not all that hot, but I get to blow stuff up. This is my dive team before imploding a building on Kwajalein in the South Pacific, I am the guy on the far left. Sine it was like 95 degrees and 100% humidity.. I was pretty f-ing hot that day!

Second is a pic of my ride, I don't have any together since I have never seen it in person. Off in the sandbox right now.

Come to think about it, we do in fact PT a lot, goes with the job. *Wink*

Ok before I head to wok, I'll try and find a close up... well no luck really, I was trying to see if I had one in our dive uniform UDT's (little itty bitty shorts, any EOD, SEAL or RECON would know what I am talking about). Maybe I'll look more later, for now this is the best I got. Sorry.

This is me... you guessed it lifting fence, my buddy thought it would be funny to make me lift a whole side solo and take pictures instead of help. Not real glamourous sorry, we use the fence to contain the explosion of the cement, so stuff doesn't go flying everywhere.

That one is a MarkV (old school diving helmet) with a compass rose and a diver down flag behind it. I got that one when I made Divemaster on the civilian side). Once I lost my mind and went into the military, I got my Army Diver one on the other arm. You have to do something dumb to commemorate soemthing else you did that was dumb. HE HE HE

Can we get a closeup? I like tats. I have kanji on my right shoulder that says simply "tora", meaning tiger.

I do dive for fun, but it is not quite as exciting anymore as it used to be. Once you start doing swift river recon, security swims, counter-mine warfare, underwater demolition and raising a few wrecks off the bottom, it is hard to get the same adrenaline rush without the whole fear of death thing. But since I usually dive in places where no SANE human would want to go, in my free time I like to go dive nice places where it is WARM, I can see more than 6 inches in front of me (my favorites are Okinawa, Kauai, Kwajalein Atoll) and no one is shooting at me ;-)

I never thought about diving for fun as exciting as in the adrenaline rush kind of exciting, but then I hang out with underwater photographers and videographers -- nice and mellow diving for the most part. Yes, warmth and good viz are really nice to have. I'm in the Pacific Northwest, where the water temp is pretty much always around 50 degrees F, and visibility is pretty much only good in the winter. I haven't made it to your favorite places, but plan to. The most exciting so far has been hanging out in a cage in the Farallon Islands, waiting for a Great White to show up and eat a sea lion. No luck though ... at least not while I was in the cage. One of our friends managed to snap a couple pics of a 12ft male as he cruised by a couple of times.

Nice. I like the poseidon tatt, and it looks like a nice tribal design hidden under your sleeve on your left arm.....must get a cloer pic of that when you can.

http://www.esnips.com/web/ArmyDiverDemoJobonKwaj - second video is a shark dive in Kwaj, one of the divers speared a fish in a school of reef sharks... pretty exciting, that is an adrenaline rush!

Cool video - you guys stirred up a lot of sharks! When you're that close to just one it's exciting enough!! I can't believe I didn't think of this before... Last September I swam with a whale shark. Not scary at all, just completely awesome...

[ok, we should probly quit highjacking this thread!]

Ok Darkrose, I will try to get enough courage to take a full upper body tattoo picture. No laughing though.

FYI, becuase I like bragging about my dive team, the first video on the http://www.esnips.com/web/ArmyDiverDemoJobonKwaj site is the explosive demo of a building, the first precision explosion in military history... done by 8 divers from Hawaii, I think it is pretty cool -- your tax dollars at work.
