had a little fun today..
i went to the inlaws place where i just so happen to keep a few of my cars and i decided to have a little fun, take some pics of my cars, and continue parting out that old 88 SE. i drove the RX-8 up there and got my 63 Falcon out and took it for a drive, moved my repair in progress ocean blue 85 GS to the repair portion of the garage and had some fun dragging out the SE and turning it over on its side and pulling off everything underneath. all i have left to dismantle after tonight is the front suspension and the dash and front carpet section. anyways, here are the pics:

God I love the old RX-7, I miss my 84 GSL badly sometimes, it was a very nice machine!!
Where did the 88 come from with the massive rust all over the car!!! Damn I would be afraid it will break in two.

now, the ocean blue RX-7 the car has a neat story behind it as well. it was owned by a woman who bought it originally in Texas. she got married and moved to Ohio where the car remained garaged and babied by her. one evening she came home from work, parked the car in the garage and told her husband that she didnt feel well. she ordered a pizza and laid down to sleep, never to waak up again. after 5 years of looking at the car in the garage in the same spot his wife parked the car and grieving and not wating to come off of the car, the husband sold the car to the family i bought it off of. the son wrecked the car and i got it for a good price. the family told me the story of the woman who owned the car originally and how much it meant to her. i just can't let the car that meant so much to that woman and a grieving husband rot away or be parted out, so i'm in the process of repairing it:

neat little fact, the Mustang was originally built on the Falcon platform.
oh, and i'll take the heat that you have over this horrid rust any day. the salt up here eats these cars alive! the tin worm gets his fill thats for sure.

it had been asked if i would share the story of how i aquired the Falcon. so i figured i'd share my grandfather gave me the car shortly before his passing in 1998. i was 16 and crushed when he died. he was like a father to me so you can imagine the sentimental value this car has to me. before he died, my grandfather took me out and sat me in the car and showed me how to use the "three on the tree". he sat next to me in the car and made sure i got it right. he told me that he would buy me any car i wanted when i graduated high school (within reason of course). he got sick and because he wanted me to have that car he promised, he offered me any car in his driveway. one of which included a 56 chevy 2 door with a 265 V8. i chose the Falcon because it meant so much to me.. it was the last thing about cars he was able to teach me. i want to feel that he respected the decision i had made with the Falcon. i sold the Falcon shortly after high school and regretted the decision ever so much. i sold it to an old timer that restored cars as a hobby..with one condition...he offer me the car first if ever he were to sell it. he called in 2006 and in 2007, i purchased the car back..for a lot more than i sold it to him for..but i cant complain because he restored the body, rebuilt the trans, installed new tires, and body seals, and rebuilt the carb and brakes. i've taken it further by painting the engine bay and installing the decal set in the engine bay and around the body. i'll get more pics of it. for now, here's a thread with more pics:
