Yes, I tuned the Interceptor myself on an empty highway. The turboXS system made it alittle leaner and I adjusted the fuel some more. MZM has been swamped since last month.
The video has my E-01 screen with the boost/rpm's/ AFR's. My AFR's are mostly within the 11.0-11.5 range. This is a safe range.

That is awesome. Makes me eager to get myne running again. I work with a couple people who have corvettes and was just bitching the other day that all the money I've spent and still can't beat one in stock form. Good to know their's hope.

You definitely have to pay attention. C5 corvettes run 13.3's stock.
The launch is still tricky. I was unable to use high boost in 1st. Then boost drops off at high rpm's.... so I'm not in the 10psi range much.
I see...so how do you take off in your 8? What's the trick? When I'm having some 0-70 fun I normally take off from 6K. With all that new power...what's your system?

By the way...nice MX-6 you got there...LOL!!

Still trying to figure it out.
If you don't rev high enough, it'll usually bog down and kill your 60ft. I also rev to 6-7k rpms, then feather it til you get traction and floor it afterwards. Dropping the clutch too fast will get you wheel spin.

Wow. That's impressive. I'm happy to see that there is someone that has cracked this car open and has shown what it is capable of. I need to get back on track and get some speed into my 8. I'm very jealous. Nice work.

Thanks

Yup, they run rich from the factory.
I believe the earlier flashes are the worst, the latest ones (R) aren't too bad.

It drives great. No hesitations, no backfiring. I can drive it without going into boost easily. And when the boost does come on, it's smooth and accelerates great.

My favorite part is from a rolling start in 2nd or 3rd in low rpm's and flooring it. You've already got traction and the torque is awesome.
Downshifting to 4th on the highway is also fun.

I might switch cars with some other 8 owner on one of the next drives. Just to see what they think and also for me to see what stock feels like.

I've thought about how my car would feel if I took off the turbo. Honestly, I don't think I'd want the car anymore, and would probably sell it. It would be extremely boring to drive.

Was it you who replied, Adrian, about how you'd not want run a road course flat-out? If I had two RX8s I'd have no problem boosting one, and keeping the other for a track-day/lapping event.

Why not just use the boosted one for the track-day/lapping event?
Yeah, I'm not really into road courses. I prefer parking lot autox'ing instead. Then drag racing.

Twas a question I asked awhile back - I doubt I'd trust a boosted RX8 for 20-30 minutes STRAIGHT of WOT, for 4 sessions. A couple boosted rx8-owners agreed.

Yeah, 20-30mins straight of pushing it to the limit is kindof scary.
I'll stick with 13.1 secs or under.

Aren't Pur Nrg (sp?) and BrazillianRX8 (sp?) boosted and doing track events?
