It was around 55-60 in Colorado Springs (at the bottom of the mountain). The temp reading on my dash never fell from 45 the whole time at the top, but the hot engine may have given a false reading because when the sun was blocked by the clouds it was freezing. I'm not sure what the real temp was. The pic looks really cold because of the snow and cloud coverage. I've heard the top of the mountain is usually 30 degrees cooler than Colorado Springs. The hairpin pic was probably at about 12k feet.

The weirdest part about driving up there was how different the car performed. I climbed most of the way in first and second gear (especially on the dirt sections at the end). My car had absolutly no grunt in the lower revs and would almost stall if the revs dropped below 3 or 4k. I didn't realize what a difference the lack of oxygen could make. Going down was a breeze.

This will be my last fall pics for this year. The leaves are now falling off the trees. A few of us made a trip up to the North Georgia mountains for a little fun. Windows down, sunroof back and 42º... It was nice! In the train: L8APEX, WHENSON417, Gimlet (and wife) and me.
