Ghetto mod intake

I basiaclly took off the bottom cover of the intake. I then used ziplocks to keep the filter in place. There is no gain in the lower rpms I actually left like i lost torque because of it. In the high end it really hard to tell, but is sounds pretty nice. Later on placed the stock filter cover back on because i saw no gain.

heres a video of what it sounds like.

LOL, I made a getto intake for my 1991 Nissan NX2000 and you should of heard it...it sounded GREAT! I used a K&N Cone filter (not sure if that is the official name of it) but I don't know if I gained anything other than:

Dyno-MIGHT! LOL

Not bad at all. Does sound much deeper than stock. Kinda sounds like what I did when I had my Miata. Took off the snorkel and lower half of the airbox, turned it away from the exhaust, and bolted the filter in place. Didn't make a spit of difference in power/torque, but did it ever sound good... I might just have to do this. :D

I did the same thing to my 200sx with a 1.6 liter motor and it sounded beast. Im guessin all these tiny motors make a lot of noise.

I don't really care, but, there are clearly two cars driving up the street so your buddies did a **** job. There are also multiple drive ways and an intersection.

Not a lecture, just sharing.

If the laws by you are the same as NY, what you did having friends stand guard actually makes it into multiple crimes (mostly misdemeanors but some are actually felonies if I remember correctly). Take it from an old street racer.

In addition to the slew of tickets the driver(s) are eligible for - speeding, reckless endangerment, speed contest, etc, etc

Your lookouts get ticketed for everything the driver gets ticketed for and if the DA gets involved it gets really crazy. One of the charges the DA can roll out is impersonating a police officer. Better off without the lookouts because that makes everything that happens after premeditated.

What, 60-80 in a neighborhood? I'll admit, alot of the people in here get flamed too hard on the speed thing...but this is just WAY over the line IMHO. Go find some empty backstreet, not a neighborhood. Way too reckless.

i put a home depot intake on my 95 ford probe gt. the kits were almost $300 and i didn't want to pay that much so i asked the probe forum and they said home depot. and for 10 bucks i had a nice cold air intake made out of a/c ducting. it had a very nice sound to it too!

Unhappy

Way to fast bro. When your young, you do stupid things. As you get older and a better of your on mortality, you stop alot of that stuff. I worked as a firemen when I was in college. I can't begin to tell you all the stuff of seen. It only takes a few seconds and you or someone you know is dead. Have some since or what you are chancing.
