Fog?
It had to happen that the day I go up the mountain with the specific goal of getting some foggy shots... there's no fog up top. Well, there was a little bit halfway up but nowhere near what I wanted:
So anyway I didn't take too many pictures, but on the way back down I tried a long exposure shot that came out like this:
Up in Kokee it is pretty isolated and very very dark with our cars being the only man-made light source. My tripod was set up in the middle of the road to get the shot and I had to move because a car was coming, but I did manage to get one more good one:
As you can see I liked that picture so much it became my sig. :D I now also have a bunch of new ideas I need to go try...

Obsessive Paint Polisher
I like the signature shot! Very unique. Gives me a couple of ideas for mine. Would'nt it be cool if everyone had a quality shot of thier 8 for the sigs.

wow, did you go all the way up to kalalau just for some pics? damn dude, your dedicated. although the drive up from waimea has some good turns and elevation changes....makes me miss home.....
when i was back this summer, i only saw two 8's. one what i thought was black with the appearance package by kilohana and a VR filling gas at the shell in kalaheo. i liked your other shots down by brenecke's btw. keep it up man!
alohas,

There was actually lightning in the last pic, but its rare over here to see big bolts, just flashes mostly. If I can get a good shot during a sunset the colors are really cool too. I live only 5 minutes away so I tend to go up the mountain a lot. By late afternoon there isn't much traffic. I also just installed the RP supercat midpipe so I had to go try it out. :D I'm trying not to post too many pictures until I get my rims, whenever that may be.

where at? in waimea or kekaha? when i was in high school, we'd go up from waimea side just for that one long downhill into that little s-turn at the bottom for the rollercoaster effect. be careful though, we saw a tourist almost go off the cliff coming back once...lost his brakes and couldn't negotiate a right hander. the only thing that saved him and his wife from seeing too much of the canyon was a small lohia stump.
car looks good, what rims are you getting?

How long ago was this that you went to high school over here? I'm in Kekaha, but I like going the Waimea way better. The Waimea road was repaved and is a lot smoother than the Kekaha road, which has all sorts of pot holes and stuff. The wheels I'm waiting for are some 19" TE37's in white. If my other project car stops stealing my funds I want to get some coilovers too.

i grad from kapaa in '96. crazy man, my ten year is coming up already! it's a good reason to go back, though. those te's are gonna be nice. are they gonna be solid white or with a machined lip? i'm looking into coils and shocks too, if i can convince the boss (aka wife) that i need em. i should probably try and wait, espescially since i'll be spending about $2500 on wheels and tires.......

There are 2 other Whitewater Pearl RX-8's on the island. One day I will get a picture of my Snowflake white next to one of them. I do think its a slightly different shade. It's listed under optional equipment. Oh, and the TE37's are going to be all white. I've wanted a set of those for the longest. I think the LE37T is the one with the polished lip and gunmetal spokes.

Did you look at the attached picture of my window sticker? There's no need to argue about this, so I'll call my car "snowflake white pearl", you can call yours "whitewater pearl", and we can all be happy.
