i know this is an old post but i cant let that go uncorrected.

that speed source body is built in atlanta georgia by downing racing and is all carbon fiber. ive been in the room where they lay them up. ther is no connection between it and that wide body kit

Best just to go to a local shop and pay the price....cause that is cheaper than doing it yourself if you have no experience

It's automotive paint. You put down the same base coat color you'd use for brilliant black. Although most guys use tint, instead of color coat to get that deep black. Then you spray it with satin clear coat. It's the satin clear coat that makes it look flat.

You don't make a car look like that with Benjamin Moore and a paint roller.

Of course, on a race car, it's far more likely that they'd do a wrap instead of paint. The car is probably just painted in a single stage black or white color and then they put a wrap on it. It's cheaper and they can integrate the advertiser graphics more easily.

The wrap is also really cool because if you want to do it, it's cheaper than paint and if you decide you don't like it, you can rip it off and the paint should remain undamaged - although I've never actually seen a car that had it removed so I'm dubious.
