oh, i like the two-tone. the paint style is reminiscent of the Pontiac Banshee

 

thanks i love it everyday it just keeps getting better this car is the best purchase i ever made, only have a lil over 6 months ish, and got almost 12k miles on it, i cant drive it enough, cant keep it clean enought, dont have enough money to blow on it.

thanks for compliments, my GF is great photographer and we just drove around and pulled over a few spots and got some shots maybe spent 3-4 hours total with alot of driving, but yea all credit goes to her =) (also her photo business helps buy my 8 stuff so cant complain either way lol)

 

Heeroguy, your car looks great with the two tone. Trust me, your keeping it clean enough!

The pictures look look very clean and sharp too. What camera is your gf using?

Also, as a suggestion, if you guys go back to the pagoda for a photo shoot try to go early in the morning, sometimes you can get away with crazier pictures.

she has a canon 30d but her new lens is amazing i think is like 18-75 or something but like 1.8fstop ****** cost me $1700 but it does amazing photos.

I commend you for trying to do something different. And your two tone R3 is quite radical from the perspective that you are perhaps the only person that has done it.

Here's my opinion - which I offer anyway since this is an open forum, haha. I feel the RX-8 doesn't have the right lines/shape for a two tone paint. In fact, very few cars do. It is hard to find a car that can pull it off. Actually, there's a gray RX-8 around here that has a two tone. I really like that one. I guess I am not feeling the black/red combo.

But at the end is your car. And as you said in your own post, 'no one cares'

 

+1. what irritates me the most is how the black bleeds into the front grille. but the sides stick out.

 

I think that's a good point. Perhaps that's what throws me off when I look at the pics. It would interesting to see how it would look if the black ended with the hood - as opposed as bleeding into the grill as you mentioned.

Two-tone paint looks great with an ATH aero kit on an S1.

 

I totally agree with you. One thing is for people to offer opinions, and another thing is when a kid just rambles all over the place.

Interesting two tone concept with that kit.

 

let me start by saying i think the pics are great and for the most part I like the 2 tone but this pic shows the 4 things that im going to nit pick 3 of which i you can fix

1. this is the big one i dont like how the black forms an arrow head with the grill. the gill being wider than the paint just doesnt flow right to my eye.

2. the colored part of the side mirrors should be black imo as they are above the trasition line

3. there are now 3 colors of paint and 2 finishes(the wheels match one paint color but the bar under the fog lights stand out funny)

4. i think some window tint will help pull the black together

again i wasnt sure i should write this as otherwise i think this is a great looking car.
