Ouch! Very sad site to see :(.

ibfubar2000 05-30-2003 07:19 PM

wow! i bet they dont even have the parts to fix it yet. it will either be totalled or just sit there for a few months until they can get replacement parts. how sad!

NoVa 05-30-2003 07:19 PM

OUCH. Im sorry to see that, but i hope everyone's okay. I think it just brought a tear to my eye to see that car all mangled like that. Hope everything works out for the best.

TJRX8 05-30-2003 07:20 PM

ouch

ibfubar2000 05-30-2003 07:22 PM

any info on how fast they were going and what happened and how bad the injuries were if any?

LiQuiDLaM 05-30-2003 07:34 PM

dayem, who was the maniac that trashed it? or was it just the remains of some head-on crash test?

turbovr6 05-30-2003 07:53 PM

Well it's interesting to see that the new 8 and the rx7 do have one thing in common,,,, THEY CAN'T TAKE A HIT!

Lock & Load 05-30-2003 08:39 PM

RX8 KAMIKAZE PILOT???

Talk about slam dunk ,sorry to see nice rx8 all squished .ON the serious side are aluminium panels on rear doors and bonnet more expensive to fix??? rx8 could be a panel beaters retirement fund???

P00Man 05-30-2003 10:53 PM

well, it depends how fast he was going as to whether or not they can take a hit. Also it could just be properly designed and functioning crunch zones

Wolverine 05-31-2003 12:37 PM

Nope, couldn't be - aside from having a license plate, the impact isn't consistent with any of the crash tests, and there's none of the reference lines (yellow/black targets and lines to precisely determine deformations from video, photos, and measurements) that are always placed on crash test cars.

JSGsaid he wasnt happy with the brakes, but he did not have the yellow car did he???

P00Man 05-31-2003 06:25 PM

no, he has a titty gray vehicle, and also said that its probably just the brakes not being broken in yet.

Wouldn't be a crash test car because it's crashed on the wrong side. It would have been crashed on the right front since it is a right hand drive car. No?

Maybe East Moon can translate the check sheet.

EAST MOON 06-01-2003 03:51 AM

( from the check sheet )

--Since owner has cut the key, mileage is not known.
--It is said that engine and missions are OK.

(The person who wrote this, and the person who checked the car seem to be those different.)

EAST MOON

Why could the owner cut the key??????
Engine is ok then it is very lucky may be the RX8 is very strong :)

Yuhki 06-01-2003 08:03 AM

Unnnn.

This thread is linked from the Mazda web members(Mazda official site in Japan).

It seems a part of one Japanese character is missing due to the picture quality.
"Okyaku-san ga kagi wo kizute izute shimazu ta"
-> the owner cut the key
"Okyaku-san ga kagi wo mozute izute shimztu ta"
-> the owner brougth the key back home.

The comment are trying to say that he or she could not see the trip meter (the trip meter is digital and needs to turn the switch on)

Edo 06-01-2003 11:42 AM

Interesting to see the passenger airbag has gone off, but not the drivers....

jdj1971 06-01-2003 11:58 AM

The drivers air bag did go off. Look at the last picture.

N1-R 06-01-2003 04:53 PM

yup the driver said came out too.....

Aeterna 06-01-2003 08:42 PM

What about?

Maybe EAST MOON can tell us what the building in the background says. Does that give us any clues as to where the car is 'dumped'? Maybe it says 'Mazda RX-8 stunt driving car burial grounds' or something ridiculous like that?
