Nice work, very clean

Claybar is great for removing the "nasties". What do put on for sealant/wax after?

TopGear8 04-25-2008 05:36 PM

Nice and shiny!

HockeyRX-8 04-25-2008 07:13 PM

Car looks great and I bet it's really smooth. I'm still waiting to do mine. I have the claybar kit sitting in my garage, but I never had the chance to do it yet.

Lord ET 04-25-2008 11:05 PM

haha. it took me a full hour and a half.. i need to get a big block of clay

fahrfegneugen 04-26-2008 12:58 AM

Try using a meguires paint cleaner and swirl remover after the clay bar. Then try one of their waxes or a Mother's wax. You will be even more impressed I think.

Don't forget the Meguiars Polish before the wax to intensify/deepen the color.

i've never clayed my car it's still a virgin lol so whats the difference between wax and clay is clay for the swirls and chips and wax for shine?:banghead:

Looks so good you inspired me to recon my car after the long cold winter. Finish was still very smooth and did not need to clay though.

Here's my 4 hour process:
1. Wash & Dry
2. Griot's Garage Machine Polish 3 with PC and orange pad
3. Buff by hand
4. Poor Boy's EX-P polish/sealant with PC and polishing pad
5. Buff by hand
6. Natty's Paste Wax Blue by hand
7. Buff by hand
8. Clean RB muffler canisters and tips
9. Apply Back to Black

Search the show & shine threads. Many posts about it.

well even though my car was all nice and shiny, the exhaust tips were definitely not! So i spent another couple hours today polishing them...by hand. I got the dremel out for the hardcore black buildup, but then I didn't have any more dremel pads so i had to go back to using a rag.... here are the results!

the white speckles are residual polish dots...they are wiped off now
