Feeler: Any interest in RX-8 illustrated art work?

I've done a few of these over the years and enjoy doing them, so I'm considering offering them to the club.

Basically it's a low color count (8-16 color), digital illustration of your car, bike, whatever. I plan to offer them both digitally, framed, and in multiple sizes. Digitally, i can make them to any size wanted. Printed and framed will be limited to frame sizes and cost to print. Anything over 12x18 requires a large format plotter, which I do not own and would have to outsource.

I'm still in the works on pricing, but it will most likely be around $50 for digital only, up to $150 for large format framed prints. This will cover framing and shipping, and you will be provided with multiple file sizes of the digital artwork in both cases. It may seem pricey, but each illustration takes between 10 and 20 hours depending on the detail. For the price, you will get proofs along the way. I'll be offering proofs so you can decide on color vs. B&W, background or no background, background color or tint, matting choices if framed, and so on and so forth. I just want to make sure you're happy with what you are getting.

All I'll need from you is a relatively high res picture.

I'm happy to do more than RX8's, but I will warn you that people tend to turn out bad when only in 8-16 colors.

I am open to pricing suggestions, but please keep them out of the thread. PM me if you have any. I don't want this to turn into a **** fest about what it should be worth to people. If i change my pricing i will update it in this post.

Also, this is just a feeler. Please do not post pics or ask me to get started. I am not selling any work just yet. After a few PM's back and forth with the admins, i will be opening a "Group buy" for this if i get enough interest, or possibly becoming a vendor if I get an outstanding response. I'll announce what's happening with a new thread in the appropriate section and updating this thread when the time comes. I'll most likely pull the trigger if i can get at close to 10 people genuinely interested.

Here are a couple examples. I'm going to frame one of the GT3 pics this weekend for a friend, so I will take pictures of it framed as well. Note the two of the GT3 are with the background from the original pic.

My rx8 on a solid background:

A GT3 with a scaled back background:

A GT3 with a blue tinted background

I have another one or two that i'm about to start working on for friends. I will post them up as well.

This is from a photo I took at Mid Ohio last year. While i'll do race shots, the details take longer and I will charge more for the work:

Thanks for the interest. I'll get some some solid pricing worked out soon.

I think I should get one for my bedroom so I have something to look at when I bang ugly girls.

But on a serious note, when my car is complete i'll be hitting you up.

While it's respectable that you don't discriminate against ugly girls, problem solved if you bang just hot girls. Just sayin

Nice work tho fuz.

Hanging a picture on your junk is not recommended and could be painful.

Chinese finger cuffs for the "smaller" guys might work but not for me, i would need something that could handle more girth

BTW, should I email you my picture?

thanks camcenters. I don't use any filters or tricks on the car itself either. It's all point to point drawn shapes.

Nice idea, cars look good. J's GT3 looks good with the Roebling Bridge and city in the backdrop.

Alter "girls" to boys and I might be in the market for one as well

Those look really great by the way and when I get my garage finished I might have to hit you up for one, Lucy would look stunning in that format I suspect!

Nice work! Being a digital artist myself, I fully understand the time it takes to produce these.

Interested as well. But I might have to wait for our Spring meet before I have a good hi-res photo. I don't think shitty camera phone pictures cut it :P
