Fast and Furious 3!

even though I'm not a fan of these movies... this article was interesting...

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=106240

to be specific...

The car companies want in, too. Mitsubishi's starring role in 2 Fast 2 Furious was seen in the industry as marketing genius. This time Dodge, Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Volkswagen want in, and brought out examples of their lineups for Lin to look over.
We'll be seeing rx8s?? :D

also this movie is about drifting... damn
now this is going to get all hyped and we'll see everyone crashing everywhere!!!

On principle, I have never seen one of the films, and vow to continue.

Horrible....Horrible movies.

Got to love it.

I kind of liked the movies. They were "entertaining". Anyway, I hope these guys get some RX-8s, not just for just cameo shots but main parts. The 8 is a car with unknown potential and head turning looks (whether you like it or not, it still turns heads).

How do you know they're horrible if you haven't seen them?

They're entertaining eye candy. I don't think they were trying to win an oscar with them.

i loved the movies, for the sole fact that my business tripled after the first one came out.

other than that, they are worth very little in entertainment value IMO

I've seen the cars they drive. I've read the quotes from the movie. Pretty easy, actually.

movies are movies, they were never intended for anything but entertainment, relax, kick back, and enjoy them, I even saw "Lords of Dogtown" knowing it might be pretty cheesy and also being a skateboard fiend for over 13 years now, it was fine and fun to watch, if I would have looked at it seriously or for historical whatever, it probably would have irritated the crap out of me and I would have wastd 8 bucks on 2 hours of torture..no thanks. I'm all for movies like this, enjoy them while you can life's too short etc etc.

It won't be RX-8s. Mazda will try to push their 6 (plain and mspeed), their 3, and possibly their MPVs. No love for RX-8s from them.

I actually *liked* the first FF. I found it a neat little story of a group of friends who went down the path of the dark side, a cop that was too white for even white folk, a badass who had 'a gas tank for a brain', a very lame-looking Mitsu (mit NAAAAWS!!!!ONE!!!, a slightly better-looking Supra, and the 8-second Charger.

I even identified with Jesse.. engines calm me down.. i'd rather be tokin' and wrenching than pretending I'm a cog in some wheel in some machine.. and yeah, I got the attention span of a gnat..

And the best thing about FF? That Liz Taylor house. :D I'm a sucker for that style.

The 2nd one makes the 1st one look like haute cinema.

I don't expect miracles from the 3rd.. I won't even watch.

Interesting note, if you listen to the commentary on the original, the director wanted to make the sequel pick up where the first one left off -- what happened to Jesse, etc.. He never got to make it. Hollywood being Hollywood, they took it away from him and gave it to someone else, and it became a farce. Well, more of a farce than the first one.. but at least the first one had *some* cinematic value..

What sucks is that they won't even have anybody from the original movie in this one. I like the first one, somewhat entertaining & innovative (using the Japanese cars). The 2nd one got pretty cheesy, I'm sure the 3rd one will absolutely suck.

Yeah, it doesn't seem too interesting from reading that article. I may see it just to check out the cars, or catch it on bootleg like I did the 2nd one.

sort of funny how you say they are "horrible...horrible movies" when you "have never seen one of the films"

i remember when they had the casting for cars at irwindale speedway and wished i had a riced out enough rx8 to compete in that competition and have my car in the fast and the furious unfortunately my rx8 has tasteful understated body modifications and aero parts so i wouldn't have stood a chance even if i went anyway

I was actually really hoping that there isn't an 8 in the movie. Although it will probably boost sales, I really don't want to see more 8s on the road. I guess I'm just selfish.

Personaly I don't think there is anything wrong with the movies, they're for entertainment purposes so you can't really take it seriously, just sit back enjoy it and make fun of the stupid stuff they say.

What I'm worried about is all the rice boys thinking they are dorifto masters and sliding uncontrollably into some mom in a minivan.

yeah, I explained that - read the whole thread

You're suggesting I would have to SEE Gigli with Ben Afleck and JLo to know it was horrible...or Glitter with...what's her name? That white-black-girl? Meriah?

Get my drift?

Didn't Vin Diesel drive a third-gen in the original Fast and Furious?
