Got my Evo-R eyelids the other day. Got them from the painter today (they don't come pre-painted in Titanium Gray) and put them on. What do you guys think? I love them, makes the 8 look a lot more aggressive.

 

eyelids are fine and dandy until a sheet of ice flys off a van on the highway 200ft away.... does a huge dramatic arc in the air and for some reason smashes on the headlight of YOUR car ( out of so many others)...... shatters the insed of your headlight and rips off the eyelid in the process

Lose the stock body kit? I happen to love the front and rear bumper.. I am getting MS sideskirts though, I think they look hot with the stock front/rear bumper.. but everyone is entitled to their opinion that's what these forums are for.. hehe

 

Yeah true, just my opinion...I'd strip off the kit to really show off those great Mille M rims you have

I like them even though some people say it makes the 8 look sleepy/mean. Where did you get them from and how much to paint the eyelids? How are they on the headlight?

 

Granted, it's only my opinion, but I think the MS spoiler looks badass on your car....as it is....sans MS side skirts. I thought about getting some kind of kit for my car, but I really love the stock appearance package. And those eyelids are sweet. It really does make the front more aggressive looking. Now all you need are aluminum screens for the oil coolers and the opening for the radiator.

 

Heh, I have Axis Hiros on order.. they are on backorder though.. should get them from the factory by the end of November.. Probably going to toss snow tires on the Mille Miglias.. that way I don't have to run stock wheels with winter tires

I got them from this site: http://www.evo-r.net/product/RX-8/CF . However, they do not have them pre-painted in Titanium. So I got my local body shop to do it. Cost me $40 to have them color matched and painted. Not bad in my opinion. Well worth it. And yes, they are mounted on the headlights themselves via sticky tape. If you do get them, just remember to clean off the headlight with some rubbing alcohol first to help give the sticky back something clean to stick to.

Thanks! I do a lot of autocrossing with my 8, so the sideskirts will help a bit in the aerodynamics dept, not to mention I think they'll look good too Screens are going to be coming soon, one thing at a time!

 

I've been tempted to buy the eyelids... do they effect the light from the headlights at all??

 

no man... keep the stock body kit..... its the best looking one IMHO... even better looking than the mazdaspeed kit

Yup, they are the carbon fiber ones, just painted to match the titanium gray.

 

Can you post a closer pic for me to see?? My eyes aren't what they used to be.

Thanks! I wanted to see how far down they came. You car has a blue tinge to it... What do you think they would look like if left the CF color? I'm tempted now to get these after seing yours.

 

I don't know about just CF eyelids on titanium.. I'm not a big fan of exterior parts being made of carbon fiber.. it's all a matter of opinion though.. I think it would look a bit out of place and ricey.. just my opinion though.
