Every ones doing it so why cant I?
I have actually tried both ways, and according to KENSAI Racing (Grand-Am KONI Challange Team) they said it's better to have the slots facing the front of the car... Breaks better, cools better and the pads will last longer too...
Inside the rotor are grooves that channel air. Some rotors require a specific direction, some don't. It's strictly for cooling purposes.
Not so. There is a significant difference in the function of the slots when they are facing the wrong way.
True. Many simply have radially neutral vanes so it wouldn't matter. Those with inclined vanes should have them oriented into the airflow.
Inclined-vane rotors will have their slots properly aligned as well.

That's exactly what I have been using for several years and on many cars. You don't need to buy the expensive caliper paint kits and you have more colors to choose from. I mixed mine with OEM VR paint.
mm, so your saying if I was looking at my rotor from the side head on, the vanes outer cut rolls into the bottom part of the caliper first in a forward roll, right?
by the way nice shot of yur latest av.......sweet!

The vanes inside the rotor should be pointed in the same direction as the slots.

If the internal vanes are perfectly radial (at a right angle to a circumferential tangent), then your slots should be, at least, oriented as in the picture above.
Cross-drilling is omniidirectional.

F \ R
I looked at my RacingBrake rotors and the internal vanes are tilted in the opposite direction from the slots. So as per arrow on the rotor and the instructions on the site, the internal vanes are supposed to be:
F / R
whereas visually the slots are tilted in the opposite direction:
F \ R
(as in the last photo w/ a black 8 that you posted)
^Thats what hes getting at, every Rotor maker makes them different. You have to follow the specs bro.
Color is up to you but its called rustoleum
Yup. Works great and homedepot will mix any color you want!
