That bike is my background. My favorite of all time. They are selling used cheap. Last month I really beat my self up about buying one.

How much do these bikes go for? I know they're well over $10k.

Some are asking $23K for a brand new one. I like 999 series better

VERY nice bike! It's twice the bike the 999 was.

As for the chicken strips comment, a day at the track will loose 'em - you'll be foolish to do it on the street.

The Desmosedici RR was in the $85,000 range, plus you kinda had to "know a guy" to get one.

I do like the new Ducs, tho.

The problem with used bikes is the life expetancy for most of these bad boy's are 40-50k. Seals, pistons, everything starts to go around there.

And the majority of bike owners are not very nice to them, lol.

I have owned 3 bikes so far, and the last thing I would do is buy used.

^ +1.....I have had a few bikes as well and I will never buy a used one either....currently riding an 07 600RR....but I have to say that the Duc 1098 and the Repsol Honda CBR are my 2 favorite " affordable " bikes.

the new ducati's are pure sex. if the 1098 is out of reach, check out the slightly smaller one. I think 848 is the name. its insanely affordable, and will definately spank a gixxer750. looks in the same area as the 1098 too. same seat, same headlights, its all hotness
