Droid as a dash cam

I modified the car cradle for my Motorola Droid to allow camera usage while driving. Granted the video isn't top notch but for those on a budget and owners of a droid this does work. This was just a quick run up my road and back to see how the quality is.

I was pleasantly surprised to be sure.

The audio is just the phone. Music is what was on the radio at the time.

Best part is it can do 30min segments. Plenty to catch a good set of twisty mountains or a track run.

Nice. Area reminds me of being back home (Not sure where you live). Nice open country roads... Bliss, but there is always a cop somewhere. I rarely see cops out in on the highways, but if i ever do I sure I will get a ticket for blowing past them...

I have a VadoHD and been thinking about getting some kind of dash support for video. There is a vid on youtube with a guy who mounted his on his back wind ?deflector? on his s2000.

In just a years time there has been a leap. I found a phone mount for 4.99 USD. It was made for blackberry but what most don't notice is it comes with universal attachments. They are basically raised squares that stick to the back of your phone. The best part, no modding the holder. There is NOTHING blocking the Cam on my LG Optimus. The video it took during my test run from Best Buy was awesome. Shocking even for a phone video camera.

I just started doing this with my Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro in HD.
Got a generic cell phone holder from Cambodian Tire for 8 bucks.
Great idea. Wish I woulda had it for DGRR.

hmmm i dont have to mod my car dock for my droid2 (unless you have a 3rd party doc) but yeah works great, will have to find mine and get a video up of going threw the twistys here in PA.

Yeah, I am gonna take video clips of my drive out to my buddies place in Clinton, MA. Once you get out of the city the roads open up and get twisty. Thinking autox at some point. Got some work to do on the car.
