Dont Use a Crowbar for a Slim-jim

I just posted these in the west forum, but I figured more people could see and enjoy them here. I have to get the door replaced

This is the aftermath of my car getting broken into last night.

Did they get into the car and actually steal anything? Reason im asking because if they did - they SHOULD have just straight up smashed the window. Would have still sucked *** but wouldnt ahve costed near as much

I'm sorry for your loss - I know what it feels like to have you 8 broken into cept I got my rear and side window out the window.

Breaking the glass would have been too easy. Duh. You can't do that.

Like ok.. seriously wtf.. you had some stupid *** theives.. so they had a crowbar or some form of metal yet decided to pry your door open instead of just smashing the window.. did they think "Hey if we pry the door open the alarm wont go off!" lol..

I hope they didnt steal anything valuable and your door gets replaced quickly.

Kind of reminds me when a buddy of mine had his Mustang convertable broken into. They cut the top and the doors were unlocked.

The first insurance quote was $1200. I have a $500 deductible. I am going to bring it to some body shops, and get some second opinions.

Nothing was taken, I think my alarm scared them off. I was in a casino for about 2hrs and came out to this

That is fuct. Sorry, man.

People who steal from, break into, or otherwise screw with someone's car should be fair game for any type of retaliation; up to an including beating the ever-living ***** out of them. In Texas I'm sure they are. In most other states *you* would get in trouble (to varying degrees depending on state) for attacking/defending your personal property.

Hell, I'm still pissed off at the worthless POS that keyed the passenger side of my truck. And that happend ~2 years ago.

Thanks for the comments guys. I am going to drop it off on Monday to get fixed. I am getting a new door panel. Hopefully I am not disappointed with the paint job, I am sick to my stomach thinking of all the things that could go wrong

You can get in trouble like that anywhere, even here. Fortunately we've been taught to leave no witnesses and to make sure there is only one person left (me!) to tell the judge their side of the story! One can't argue if one can't speak! Appearances are everything!

Yeah, my buddy is really **** about his cars and when his dad crashed his turboed/nitrous passat he brought it there. This was a guy who had a carbon fiber hood on his car, but everytime he waxed his car he also waxed the stock hood...that never left the garage, just so the car and stock hood would all have been waxed the same amount of times!!

Its amazing what they can do if you find a good shop.
