You gotta admit, having your chin higher than the windshield was pretty funny.

HKS did make a kit for the 1.6, but I'm pretty sure FM did a better job.

Personally, I'd leave the car mostly stock with the exception of the turbo and a maxed-out suspension.

yes, suspension i will work on.. :)

kersh4w 01-01-2008 02:46 AM

wow. i'd love to get a miata and put a 13b in it.

c0ldf1ame 01-01-2008 05:01 AM

i've always wanted to sr20 a miata, good luck with the build!

XDEEDUBBX 01-01-2008 08:22 AM

13b or sr20 would be fun....f#ck it, im going B16 with a FWD conversion

bruce_van 01-01-2008 12:36 PM

Nice NA. I used to have a black '94 a few years ago. Great car and I really still miss driving it.

We have done several of those conversions, we sell a kit that will allow you to bolt in S4/5 rx-7 turbo motor, trans, diff etc.:Eyecrazy:

^ Go for it DEEDUB!

I was never HUGE on the Miata's although I have always liked them somewhat...

I certainly wouldn't have an issue with a Rotary Powered Miata in my driveway! *drools*

faboo 01-01-2008 04:10 PM

just get a begi s turbo system for under 2k with turbo upgrade Begi S system , that'll double ur whp basically..and then get the FM butterfly braces, Braces Page...
pick ur own suspension, wheel/tire combo and get a hard top....u have a "insert respectable performance car" beater for about 6.5K total

Freakin' awesoem! Funny my dad just caught the bug and bought one so now we can autocross together. Too bad his done already with wheels, tires, roll bar, big brake kit, stainless lines, coilovers and a motor from a newer Miata. Awesome find!

Damn, Mike.. How many Mazda's do you need? LOL I guess, you can't ever have enough!

XDEEDUBBX 03-01-2008 12:12 AM

Ok, finally started modding the miata...found some used NA wheels on craigslist for $150.. They were in good shaped but showed a lot of scratches and minor curb rash. So I decided to paint them gunmetal before I mount the tires on. Let me know what you guys think..

They kinda remind me of the oldschool panasport wheels. BTW..they are light as hell!!

TimzSI 03-01-2008 12:46 AM

what did you spray them with, it looks pro.

and totally offtopic, how is the gas smell with your HKS dual cat, less than a regular midpipe?

BigRed 03-01-2008 06:49 AM

looks pretty cool! get them on the car now :)

AdoRe 03-01-2008 08:44 AM

did you paint the wheel weight??? you know they will have to remove it when you balance your tires????

Yeah, when they balance the tires they will pull of the weight....

Dub my experience with those wheel paints are that they flake off real easy.. suggest you just send them to get powder coated and cleared...Dont waste time with mounting them and than realize the paints no good so you would have to pull off the tires etc to powder coat them,

VarneyMazda 03-01-2008 09:41 AM

Must resist miata craze ha

XDEEDUBBX 03-01-2008 10:47 AM

yes I'm aware of the weight, I will spot spray it when they come on. I've used this wheel paint before on other cars and this stuff doesn't flake easy.I painted a friends integra rims 2 years ago and they still have not flaked.

Anyway, going to get them mounted in a few hours. Pix will be up tonight.

speeddemon32 03-01-2008 12:18 PM

I like them Debub, I cant wait to see what they look like on the car. :)

you should see my car, it does not look the same anymore. (graphics) I will post pictures in a couple weeks after the first race. check my miata.net thread for updates.

I look forward to seeing what you do to your car.

SayNoToPistons 03-01-2008 01:06 PM
