Red face ClearCorners on a Shinka

Hi Gang
I just installed my first accessory!!!!....I checked the install on the DIY forum and opted to remove the reflectors that come mounted inside the clear corner....it wasnt a difficult job to do, I just took my time removing them so as not to damage the part...all in all they look pretty sweet during the day and mighty nice at nite with the lights on....I included a day and nite photo to illustrate the difference and show how the even the light is emitted without the reflector....it actually looks better in person....
PS....please excuse the dirt, it rained last nite...

Nice! That's a color that begs for clears.

Isn't it funny how we get self-conscious about our 8's not being absolutely pristine? :p Your 8 looks pretty clean to me, Shinka213!

As I've said before, I'm not usually a huge proponent of clear corners (primarily because of their cost), but I think the Shinkas are in dire need of clear corners--purple and orange just don't go well together.

Mattshack: did you take out the reflectors first?

No I did not. I thougth about it but wanted to run with them in first. I can always go back and take them out. Was it hard to remove them? Do you have the white bulbs still in or the orangeish ones? (I think my state law says I have to have orange.) I did not read the DIY before I did it, but it was pretty simple.

Im pretty sure these are legal in your state. They have a shiny chrome exterior but light up orange. Even if its illegal(which i strongly doubt)theres no way a police will notice them.

Oh yeah and the clear corners look great shinka 213

It's really not that hard to take out the reflectors.....after I saw the pix on the DIY with and without the reflectors....I decided to try to take them out....just use a little patience...if you follow the DIY you wont have a problem...and wont brake the assembly...I kept the yellow bulbs in just to be compliant with PennDOT....

Clear corners look great! I just ordered mine, and I'll be installing next week. Guess it's time to get friendly with the DIY. Personally I think the Shinka version is slick! (great color althought the interior may be to light for my tastes ... a lot of cleaning I would suspect to keep it looking good)

It's funny that they are selling US spec yellow corners in Japan. And we want theirs.

Question Nice

undefined
I just ordered my clear corners and cant wait to put them on my car. My car is black cherry to but its not a shinka. Has anyone ever heard of? I know they made that color specifically for the shinkas but my interior is also parchment tan.

Where did you find this non-Shinka, Shinka? The only 8's with black cherry and parchment interiors are Shinkas. What's it say on your b-pillar?

Either you got a used car that was repainted black cherry mica, or you're color blind :D

Black Cherry Mica is exclusive to Shinkas, no other trim has it.

BTW I just installed my strakes and am waiting for the interior night lights.
