That doesnt look too good without some type of side skirt. The lip is too low, while the rest of it is, well... not.

Yes, I know.
I didn't receive my entire body kit at the same time. I had 2 wait 3 weeks for the MS sides to arrive. I had my MS rear with burnout lip installed, it looked very "uneven" , (see pic).
Anyways, I ended up painting the front lip a few months afterwards since I didn't like the mix-match colors. The finished bodykit pics are here.
Although, I recently got rid of the burnout lip and stock bumper and went with a MS replica front.

Anyways, to get back on topic.... I'd say no to the CF mix-match (even on black) and instead go with the fiberglass and have it painted. Blends in much better and looks like it belongs.

I don't get carbon fiber. I don't see the point. Painted things look so much better to me.

The actual concept behind CF is that it is lighter than most materials that stock cars are made from, so replacing your hood with a CF one would lighten it some (of course the RX8 hood is aluminum, so it wouldnt lighten it much). Now, when you just stick "extra" parts on your car that are made out of CF, it's simply adding weight to it and defeating the whole purpose.

I dont get it? this comes from the guy who has an MS kit and wing and a brushed alum gas cap?

some people like it... some people dont. its a "look." Is there really a science behind it?

If you like it, then get it, but technically, YES, there is science behind it.

P.S. The Mazdaspeed kit is factory painted to match. CF matches nothing, except black... kinda.

Notice how this lip doesn't match anything at all and sticks out like a sore thumb?

Notice how this matches perfectly and blends into the 8's natural curves?

yeah, no science behind it... just my style.

the guy wanted a pic of a CF lip (which we all thought was a front lip) but he actually wanted a lip spoiler type... so i threw on the lip and snapped a shot since i was fitting it... the front I got is CF, the Burnout sides and rear are FRP and is being painted to match the car, i'm not going to intall the complete kit just yet since my coils arent installed yet. gonna do it all at once.

the lip is about 1" lower than the car. it does stick out, i agree but looks pretty damn sexy from the front.
