Looks like my car - blown shocks in the rear. Looks great til you realize the front is higher and you see the *** bottom out on ANY bump

 

 

i think its more the springs that have sagged as opposed to the shocks.

 

Nope, it is always the shocks, spring sag is extremely rare. Shock failure is pretty common now days as the RX-8's age.

 

I happen to have both at this point, but that's a different story for another time

 

yeah my rear shock is done for. I gotta replace it soon but I don't have the money right now

Here's my 2011 Sport 1.5 weeks ago when I picked it up at the body shop. I was rear-ended earlier this summer, and pushed into the car in front of me. Had R3 bumper and skirts installed when they did the repair. I don't have all the parts for the fog lamps yet, so the original trim pieces are installed for now.

 

Nice, the S2 looks best with the R3 aero. Now time for wheels and a drop

 

Agreed. I've got a complicated plan involving putting my RX-8's wheels onto my wife's CX-7, and swapping my gunmetal CR Kai's off my 240SX onto the RX-8 for while until I get time to put the 240 back together. They are 17x9 +17, so it will probably look a little goofy without a drop, but suspension will have to wait a while. My wife's been super patient with me after I just spent a few grand on the 8 while also in the middle of a $20k project building a workshop for myself.

Old pics where I test fit one of the wheels onto the 8. I had just set the car back down off the jack, so the suspension isn't properly settled, but the combo has a slightly smaller OD than the stock wheels/tires, so it's definitely gonna have some 4x4 status. (I know the tire treads are wrong direction, I was just checking to see how it fit)

 

Best buddy runs a skate shop. Gotta rep it. Thats east side shop in mc allister mall. Sj. Nb
