I finally washed off the pollen. Here are a couple of pics for the Spring.

Why all the Strake hate?

 

Strakes only look good if you can't see them.

 

I just can't get over this car, it just makes me cringe. I know styles vary ( I had red Volk GT-F's) but I just don't see how anyone could step out of this and think, "damn that looks sweet!"

 

She just wants to eat it up

 

 

I guess you guys are glad the S2 got rid of the fender vents all together? No way to add strakes?

I have never been a fan of aggressive CF hoods on stock bodied cars. I actually don't hate the wheels despite what they probably weigh but some spacers and a drop would help the look tremendously. I also don't like the tails, too domestic rice for me. Oh, and I hate strakes

 

well i have the body-kit it just not on the car yet, those were pics taken over the summer. I left my project beginning of dec to goto bootcamp for the air force. So now i'm picking up where i left off a little harder then before, i have about a 1" drop right now, and the alluminum wheel's really don't weigh all that much, but the tires are a bitch to pay for (looking for new ones but i'm researching what i want to do and with what spacer combination).

The tails look pretty rice stock so either way they're gonna look somewhat rice IMO but i may swap to Series II if i can find the time to mess with it a bit

Getting my hands on a whole new suspension setup, FI and motor build and will be hitting it hard in 2012.. I've only had the car for about 10 months so i've been urking to do something to it.

Style is subjective man, if you like it that is all that matters. With a kit, the hood can look great. Even if you pain the hood VR and leave the vents CF. It's not original but will look way more subtle imo. With wheel that large you need to tuck them a bit but you are right, 20' tires are expensive as hell. The strakes don't look bad and if you are going to have them then having them black is the way to go. You will get there and I am sure you car will change many times along the way.

 

i dont think you can say to much with your stock rx8 9krpm, at least that how your car looks in your pics, anyway , i think it looks good.

Pretty much stock? Damn I have spent all this money for nothing then. I guess you mean body wise, which is true.

Sometimes simple is better. Too many jump into body work too fast and don't think it thru and end up doing it wrong or don't finish it. Very few actually do body mods well. That is why aero will be the last thing I tackle. For now it's about powa.

But at least I don't front and try to pass off my knock off fakesports as real Wedsports..................... But if you want to come stateside and race, I'll show you how stock my car is
