Nice Pete

Why does it get dark and fuzzy in the center?

I purchased mine through RX8garage.net and did the install myself. The only portion I did not purchase was the rear bumper.

Love the exhaust. Looks Great. I think that's going to be my next project.

I'm pretty happy, still, with the sound of the RB exhaust...not so excited about the way the tips have "bronzed" over time. I would have preferred them to stay chrome. I've seen a couple of other aftermarket exhausts do the same on other 8's, so I guess it is to be expected.

Ok, stupid question. I noticed that some have the Mazda emblems and others don't. Are there holes predrilled? Or are the emblems just stick-ons? I'm thinking of picking up an 8 and was wondering whether I can remove the emblem off the stock bumper without any body work.....Great cars BTW.

What kind of wheels are on CORTC's? Those rims look sweet. What kind of springs do you have? Any fender rolling required to prevent rubbing? Thanks.

Emblem on the stock bumper will leave two holes. The MS bumper comes without any holes "pre-drilled". From what I've read in other posts, and from some vendors...you could drill the holes into the MS bumper and attach a new emblem (since you will likely not be able to remove the emblem from the stock bumper and re-use it)...or you can attach a new emblem with two-sided 3M tape if you take snips and remove the two posts from the back of the emblem. This seems to be a good idea, since it would allow you the ability to remove the emblem in the future if you decide to go with the "shaved" look.

Cortc has HRE rims I beleive and has MS lowering springs. PM him though to get the particulars.

Yeah, the 2 'posts' on the emblem are cheap plastic, so what I did was just bent them until they broke and used the adhesive to stick on the bumper. The emblem is only like $10 from the dealer... but it looks cooler with the emblem on I think!

Is the original MS bumper grill just black chickenwire? Or is it a specific plastic design (ala egg carton design)? One thing that scares me about the MS front end is if it comes with a "kit" looking, cheap grill cover that you mostly see on fiberglass ricer kits.

The screens that come with the MS kit are removable if you do not want them. They are simple to remove as all you need to do is bend back some clips that sort of resemble brads...or those metals pieces on a large "office" envelope. The screens come painted black. The design is small diamonds...don't know whether this is egg carton or not (don't know if I've ever seen something that looked like an egg carton though)...

You could always purchase the oil cooler screens from Racing Beat, and/or maybe the radiator screen if that is more your style....
