nemesis what did you use to cover to your ecu and fuse cover?

altspace 10-02-2010 04:18 PM

Looks painted.

Nemesis8 10-02-2010 04:30 PM

Vacuum chamber chrome

http://www.cvvacuumplaters.com/

Update: I also plated the UIM

https://www.rx8club.com/picture.php?...ictureid=18233

lordagrabah 10-02-2010 05:06 PM

That's exactly what I was looking for. How does it hold up with the engine bay heat? Also what can I expect for price and time, you can pm me if you want.

Nemesis8 10-03-2010 11:00 AM

The fuse box and ecu covers are now over three years old, and are still perfect. The mainfold has only 4 months on it so far. I forgot to use a rubber gasket under one of the bolts, and that bolt dug ibnto the plating. But you cannot see it. Other than that, it looks awesome.

http://www.nemesis8.com/Gallery/2010...ntake%2006.jpg

The covers were around $100 each, and the manifold was about $240.

Had a little fun with some high heat paint a friend of mine had laying around. :D:
The intake is a custom one I picked up from a local member here on Rx8club, 3.5" id similiar to the AEM/MS and has a K&N filter. Instead of bending into the lower grille the piping and filter sit in the passenger side of the front bumper cover. Matched it with some silicone intercooler couplers and wrapped it with DEI cool tape. Not the most subtle when I pop my hood, with crazy colors flying everywhere. :rollingla

Is the top of the box off for the pic or does the hood make the top?.

That intake is made by AEM, thats just the tubing in the engine bay. The filter is actually outside of the engine bay behind the front bumper cover. Curious to see what you custom made, any pics!?

Awesome! The more unique the better, did you paint the rubbers on your intake?

Thanks man, and no paint on those. They're actually silicone couplers I found in 3.5" so I ordered a few.. purple was a random color I decided to choose. :D:

Don't have an exact link, but I ordered em on eBay. Their actually silicone couplers for intercoolers. Just make sure you get 3.5".

Pure fail. Can't keep his thumb off the camera lens and self-tapping screws either. Home Depot Racing.

you forgot to mention some babble about your Harley .... the common political banter that you generally throw in there is included though.

So, political talk aside, why'd you delete your home depot engine bay pics? I was getting a kick out of them

From historical reference (your previous posts and Home Depot intake), I have come to the conclusion that you are the new monchie. Hence the reason I spent as much time reading this quote t as you did researching performance benefits of your DIY intake.

Spams RX8Club forum with homemade Home Depot duct tape intake, gets upset when he realizes he would have received more respect with a weopon R.

This is almost as bad as the guy over seas with the double filter y-pipe replica. Almost!

You talking about this?

Because this is a "Piss-take"

Carbon8 05-08-2013 05:58 AM

Close, it was moddled of this pic. I believe the owner was located in the Middle East and saw that pic on this site and thought it was a legitimate intake so he replicated it and also made it worse at the same time. Singe tub to house the MAF which sat directly infront of a PVC Y-pipe then connecting two air filter.

Undeniably the worst I have ever seen, but more so he misinterpreted a sarcastic post and did no research to it. Monkey see Monkey do!

Holy mother of... :rollingla
Wtf. :wallbash: Im all for custom work, when done right of course.. but that shit looks absolutely horrible. Looks like a hot air magnet. He must called it the twin intake. They suck sequentially. :yelrotflm
