Well, I've had the car for 3 months (1500 miles) now and finally have some digital pics. The more I see it the more I like it. The person taking the pics tried to show off the paint but like most of the other pics it doesn't compare to seeing it live. She also complained that she couldn't seem to get herself out of the pictures due to the reflection...and i thought the 8 was a tad too dirty.
Anyway, yes she's all stock right now but I get started with window tinting in 2 days. Then appearance package, accents, strakes and so forth start going on when it stays over 60deg F around here.

Hey, new to the forums, and hopefully soon to be a new owner of an 8. Was looking into a copper red one. I am new to all of this so I have a few questions if somone could help - are all of the copper red ones shinka's? And what is the whole difference with a shinka? Sorry I am new with all of this and wouldn't mind some help if anyone could lend me a hand.

^^ well, if you're Canadian, we call it an SE.. special edition. USA calls it a Shinka.
It doesnt say it on it anywhere, in the US it does on the B pillar. Ours is plain.
And yes, copper red is the only 8 that is an SE for 2006..
If you read the "whats so special about the shinka edition" thread, I copied and pasted the spec sheet that I got. You can compare with mazda.ca for the specs on the GT, or GS... depending on what year you want to look at (2006 and back are in the archives on their site).
Welcome!

Picked it up at local speed shop, it came with a red straight S, looks like a Z but S which I put on my 161 rwhp track-street legal Suzuki GSX-R1000, best I've seen, it sticks out like the RX8 one. I've seen these on VW Bugs @ middle of rear trunk (can it be considered a trunk?)
