Ah, I knew my buddies was not BB. So after 09' the black R3's were?

 

I dont think there were any black R3's after 2009. After 09 I believe it was just AB and VR, then in 2011 they removed the AB color option

IIRC:

09- AB, BB
10- AB, VR
11- VR

 

Oh so then there were no Brilliant Black R3's then

Noooo, the 09 black R3 's are not BB. At least when compared to Cornholio135's BB 06' Shink and tbk's black 09' R3. The colors are significantly different.

 

09s have sparkling black mica or w.e the hell its called

 

Nah, the black R3's are not Sparkling Black Mica, we had a local with that color, it is way different than the R3 black or BB.

Black '09 R3's are Brilliant Black. At least mine is. Paint Code A3F.

 

 

Well, maybe it is like the VR's, the older ones seem to have a lot more Mica than the later models or it's like Mazda 3's have the same VR paint code as the 8's but there is a significant difference in the paint process and they are very different from each other (in the stages I think). My painter owns a VR Mazda 3 ( as well as my GF up until last weekend) and she was blown away at the difference when she went to pick up the paint from the supplier.

it gets peoples' attention in a bad way. But nonetheless each their own. If youre happy with it thats all that matters.
