From the Bodyshop
Fresh from the body shop, post collision:
A couple of pictures for the first fit of my MS replica, and Seibon TS CF Hood. Using Sokei Tech Hood Dampers, but it doesn't affect hood fitment. Previous had the authentic, then had to get the MS replica because I was short on time and needed a bumper, used the extra money from the insurance to pay for the hood. I'm happy with the switch so far. Bumper and hood should be going to paint this week. Should definitely be done before I get home.

Jessiah are you sure your body shop has that plastic piece? I think that replica bumper doesn't come with it. I have the same replica from what I can tell. First we took out the styrofoam so it would fit better. Second we fabricated a rubber shield that went behind my grill to neatly cover the new area exposed by the bigger opening.
You might want to check in with your shop to make sure. If they have that piece then never mind. If they don't then you'll want to instruct them on what you want.

Maybe, but I just kind of figured it may have been damaged in the accident. I am just saying don't assume they have that piece if all the shop bought was the replica.

Yeah, a lot of dust settled after all the sanding. More pictures to come as soon as the body shop sends me more.
I -almost- thought about having the front painted WB and BB, and have the two fade into each other, then I thought, naw, that's just too much for a replica bumper. Going to stick with WB for that piece.
Sorry, Winning Blue Metallic is my official favorite color.

I asked them about it before and they said they had a piece to cover it, so I was cool. I'll call them and double check just to make sure. I definitely don't want that looking like that at all. I'm not too worried about it. Worst case I'll just fab up something myself with allumlite and paint it the same gun metallic color as the rest of the accents on the car.
Not painting the hood. This was just a fitment test. I love the way carbon fiber and the winning blue complement each other so well. Imagine having a electric guitar pounding out some sweet rift. Awesome right? Then add the bass guitar, and the harmony is amazing. Same concept here, the carbon fiber is the bass.
A lot of people are too afraid of what others will think to go out and do what they want to do, so they just follow the crowd unhappily. I'm not so much worried about that. I like it, and that's all that matters.
I respect your opinion. Some people like it, some don't. It's all good.

After having the authentic, nothing else compares. Going with the replica was just a temporary fix to meet a time constraint of needing my car when I get home. If I would've had the time to search around, I would've gone for another authentic. The replica just doesn't work for me. If it works for you, do what you do man!

Well, it's MY money, and reasonably, they should do exactly what I tell them. So long as it's not something outrageous. Besides, it's not that hard. My phone's been down for a while, so I haven't been able to call them back about the bumper piece.

Just got off the phone with the body shop. They said they do not have a piece for the opening. After the side markers come in, they're going to finish fitting and then paint the bumper and the screen. Afterwards they'll work some magic on the styrofoam. I've got a lot of faith in these guys.
