black on black looks good.

I thought there was an easier way with the plasti-dip thing.

How long did it take with the masking?

Plasitidip=less mess and masking

Duplicolor caliper kit is a brush on=no masking

looks good though...

the sale on the avacados looks good

Cool.

Yeah, I was referring to the badges mostly. It seems like the OP spent a loooong of time masking around those badges. But they turned out great!!!

Yeah it took about 5 hours to do the whole project. I know about plastidip and did alot of research into it but for every good story there was a horror story to accompany it, I wanted something that was fairly permanent since I am lazy and had to talk myself into doing this project in the first place I only wanted to have to do it once lol but all in all it really wasnt to bad to mask off. I used a flat head screw driver to push the tape into all the little crevices and then used an exacto knife to cut it flush. I also looked into duplicolor's brush on kit for the calipers but being that I have a very unsteady hand I would of had to mask everything off anyways so I opted to do the spray kit. I bought a little hand held steamer from walgreens for about 30 bucks and used that to clean all the grease and brake dust off the calipers then I sanded them with 320 grit paper and steamed them one more time. then for good measure I sprayed them off with duplicolor's brake caliper cleaner then masked them off and painted them. I put quite a bit of paint on them, I used 2 cans of paint, half a can a caliper. makes for about 6 light coats per caliper, but all the work was worth it, the paint is very smooth and covers all the nooks and crannys. I am very happy with the way it turned out

Plasti Dip is the way to go for emblems. Takes all of an hour to do, and you can easily go back to chrome.
