Auto-X Pics, Atwater, Ca 10-21-07

Just finished cropping some pictures taken from our auto-x event. Unfortunately I was the only RX8 out this time. I went with Central Valley S2k's group from Fresno.

This is only my second time out and i ran a best of 56.899 seconds. A co-driver of mine with more experience ran a 54.283. I do wish to see more central cali 8's go out.

Enjoy!

Great Pics! I was up in Stockton for the SCCA-Sac Enduro-X event this past weekend. we had 3 RX8s and 5 total drivers, iirc.
haven't been down to Atwater for an event since last year...I love the grippy surface, though.

p.s. it appears you are running in the wrong class...s/b B-Stock not A-Stock (or even better, on those Azenis 615s you can run in Street Tire indexed class for closer competition...assuming of course that the event _features_ an ST class)

Thanks. Yes i know I'm a b-stock car, but I'm not in it for the points or anything. I just want to have fun out there and in order to run with my group (s2k's) i have to run A-stock. I might go into SM2 next time around.

Yes, these are my street wheels. I plan on getting non staggered wheels for future track purposes.

haha that was the first thing i noticed. I went around easy for the first run, the second and third i tried to set a good time, then the fourth and fifth lap i was really pushing it, and it was pretty noticable.

Furture plans would include some konis or full coilover, track wheels and sways. I think thats about it. I'm so over the exhaust and intake era. Maybe just exterior ahaha LOL

I would love to get the suspension all dialed in and all but I’ve been pretty strict with cash lately.. LOL
Anywho, I would like to try out some koni’s or perhaps the ms shocks, and some adj. sways later on.

May i ask your set-up?

If you're coasting through corners you're not driving correctly or have never been to a competitive driving event and shouldn't be giving advice on suspension setup. The rule of thumb for autocross is "If you're not on the brakes you should be on the gas." Coasting is just wasting time.

To the op: drive the car as it is for a season or so before "upgrading" stuff, once you learn the limits of the car then you'll pick up additional time from better suspension. You said yourself that a more experienced co-drive is already 4 seconds faster than you in your own car so I wouldn't touch a thing until you could get at least to that point.

Those are great pics though!

Thanks, and yes i understand, but i would just like to eliminate some of the leaning. I had a 240 before this and i had no such leaning and it's kinda hard to get use to.. Thus makes me want sways. LOL

But the Atwater season is over now, and won't be back until next year so.. in the mean time i try to drive as much as possible.

Well i was thinking about a full tanabe exhuast, but since I live in Ca. I'd rather not get myself into any more trouble. LOL Although you suggest a midpipe with high flow cat.. from my reading of members post this only slightly helps...
So I'm not fully convinced on getting those.

p.s. the clears don't really blend with the red imo as much as say a white 8... but that will be taken into consideration.
