ATTN: This Just In A Shoe Box Tryed To Kill A RX-8!!!

Yep, a good driver can make the worst car in the world look good. He's done quite a bit of upgrades to that thing, and was probably the best driver out there. I'm not surprised he did well.

Which btw, happens to be his daily driver and was only at the track for fun. It complements his "other" cars: '06 BMW M5, 2 Lotus ELises, Mini Cooper S, 2 BMW M Coupe's, 2 Ducati Motorcycles, Yamaha R1, Yamaha FZR-600, and MANY others listed here: http://dpcars.aprsworld.com/old/thepast.htm , not to mention the track only race car he BUILT here: http://dpcars.aprsworld.com/dp1/index.htm . Spend some time there, this guy is VERY smart, I know I learned something.
And he sold the Xb, no more track days with it, but he's got video of himself passing a C5 Z06 in his freaking mini! Awesome web site, I'm glad it was posted here!

Like I said above, the Xb does corner really well. Just has no nut...

There was a guy at the local autocross a couple of weeks ago running one. Check this link http://www.ccrscca.com/results/solo2/ax3_06_pax.htm of the results. He placed 109 out of 118. I thought his time was pretty good considering.

So I take it that some of you guys root for the under Dog? I still think that shoe box is a POS. Just like the Mazda 3 rental I was in for 1 month. However it did out coroner a STI on a turn lane that was cool. But that STI would kill me anyday in that "bucket" so it was all on the driver.

As for the box... But kudos to the driver for posting good times.

Figures I was wrong. Like I said, not to excuse my ignorance... I love cars and grew up around them my whole life. (father restores antiques) Just never been a fan of the Yotas so i never really paid much attention.
Thanks for the education! I will have to read up on them now.

yea i root for the underdog but i am no fan of the box. i was just pointing out the driving skill of controlling that box to catch up to faster and better cars on the S turn entrance. VVT-i is on many of Toyota's engine. tC has the 2.4 liter found in the Camry and is tuned for more tq. 160hp 163 tq. The Celica engine has two versions, 1.8 VVT-i and the 1.8 VVTL-i. L stands for lift. I love Toyotas but theres just nothing exciting from them anymore. I'm hoping to see the Supra in 2008.
