Anyone with Gold MazdaSpeed wheels?
Hey guys, new guy here. If everything goes right this Sat I should be picking up a new RX8, I'm very excited but have a little dilema......
I currently own a black '95 Nissan 240 which I used to have a set of Racing Hart C0-35's on, they were gold and looked freaking amazing on the car. I've also always liked gold wheels on white cars and have wanted to own a white car so I can have that set up, so obviously when I began thinking of the RX8 I figureed I'd get the white one with the Gold wheels (the aluminum ones with the polished silver lip)......anyway that was the plan until I decided to look in here and I say some pics of your members RED cars................now I'm not so sure I want white anymore because the red is DEAD sexy!!
Problem being I've never seen a red RX8 with the gold wheels.....or a white one for that matter. If anyone has pics of the RED or WHITE RX8 with gold wheels (any gold wheels will do) PLEASE POST THEM. I've tried to look but I"m at work from 7am to 11pm (2 jobs) so I don't have much time to look in between supervisors walking by LOL. Any info or pics are appreciated THANKS
PS Also if anyone has picks of the RX8 with the splash guards on instead of the sideskirts I'd also love to see that cuz I've had no luck finding pics of one of those....not even in the accessories brochure, again thanks guys.

The mazdaspeed rims are very nice. They are Volks and weigh about 17lbs. A lot of people complain that they are too expensive but you wont find many other wheels that big that are that light. The volk 6 spoke rims (LE37) come slightly wider and are 17lbs also but are a tad bit more expensive. I can't make up my mind which I want though!

Anyone know for sure if they red cars really pay more insurance? I've been trying to get a quote from my insurance company but those ppl are worthless and won't call me back

I've never ever had an insurance company even ask for the color of my car, let alone adjusted the rates.
Think about it this way -- the myth claims that you pay more for insurance because you're likely to get more tickets... Why does your insurance company care about the chance of you getting caught speeding? They care if you speed, they don't care if you get caught or not. You have to pay the fine not them. And why do red cars supposedly get more tickets? Because they're more visible, they stand out more -- which, if anything, is going to prevent accidents as people are more likely to see you on the road. So, if anything, insurance companies would want us all to drive brightly colored cars that stood out.
If insurance companies were going to charge higher rates on certain colors they'd choose something like Dark Grey which have extremely low visibility and get into a lot of minor accidents.

At one of the dealers around here there was a black RX8 with gold everything. It had the gold rims, it had gold badges, it even had a gold pinstripe down the side. I personally didnt like it, but the car was brand new, I had never heard or seen mazda doing that before. Anyone know anything about it?

Yeah Black cars in gold rims are dope, my 240 got me more compliments and looks from people than if I were driving a Viper.
I'm sad to let you guys know that going with the whole "dealers do anything they want to their cars" WHen I was looking at the RX8's last Sat I saw a Shinka(?) one with........*cringe* 20" chrome rims........it was awful!!! I'm going back this Sat, if I can I'll take pics of it

its not always true that driving a bright car will help prevent dumbasses from hitting you. you are giving some of the morons that clog our roadways way too much credit.
take my friend for instance: he had his vivid yellow protege5 parked on the side of the road in front of his house and the lady across the street backed out of her driveway at 50 mph right into his drivers side. her excuse, "im sorry, i didnt see it there."
or how about my brother in law who was driving in his red protege5 at about 50mph and some lady decided to turn right in front of him. he was so close to her, he had NO time to react and blasted right into the side of her minivan. her excuse, "i didnt even see you coming."
