Another Crash

Only had the car for three months.... Was coming out of a turn, and hit the gas. It oversteered a bit, and I countersteered. I guess I didn't steer enough, because when it caught, it went straight into a guard rail. Pretty sure the car is totaled. I'm okay physically, but I'm pretty bummed.

Anyways, onto the couple pics I have....

Pretty sure I'll be getting another one eventually. Might be after the summer... Who knows. I miss it.

It was just me in the car, nobody else involved. At least my stupidity didn't hurt anybody else.

This was my dream car... I had been waiting 7 years to get one. At least I hadn't dumped more money into mods yet.

no "pretty sure" about it, that's totaled.
the front end damage alone would put it there, the driver's side damage would do the same. Put them together and you've made your adjuster's job very easy
glad you're ok.

That would be about 25 grand in damage. I did 6 grand once and it didn't look half that bad. Sucks man but you should stick around the forum and get another 8 soon..... or a 7

I hate..... HATE DSC. I turn my car on, buckle up tight and take DSC and throw it out the window. Is there a permanent turn off?
What tires were you on? Was tread good or was it just a "snap over-stear" situation?

Wow I am very sad that you lost your car after just getting it. I was like you, always lurking the forum before finally buying one. Glad you're ok and hope you get another 8 soon.

It's saved my car a few times. I usually turn it off when I am prepared for fun times.

I noticed that as well lol...

Hey man you wanna sell me your sohn tank, I kinda screwed mine up and could use a new one.

Sidenote: Its sad to see another winning blue go down, there's tons of high mileage sport models out there for cheap.

I say you grab one of them up and jump back on the horse!

I love DSC. I only turn it off off road. Its annoying when you want some RWD fun, but when caught unawares by oil / camber / whatever, its great.
Sorry about your car though....

I liked this line
"Pretty sure the car is totaled"

Especially when seeing the pics.... its about as totalled as possible. At least you are OK and no one else is involved.

Get some seat time before buying another rx8.
Glad you are ok but, according to your story, you don't even know WHY the car went straight.
You probably corrected too much and too fast, not too little as you say. HPDEs with good instructors and driving schools are the way to go.

Glad you are ok, but to do damage like that you were hauling ***.

I hope you didnt do too much damage to the guard rail, depending on your area, the citys like to send the repair bill, to the people that crash into their stuff.
