Yeah Gamera, the drop-downs were a mess. I figured I'm off today so I had nothing better to do than try to navigate the Japanese mazda site. It proved to be quite fruitful.

Wish I understood what some of that stuff was though. Like zoom44 was asking about that strange looking device.

And I'm hoping we can get that suff in the states. I'm digging the led-shifter & the led-start button, and the slim door unlocker and the rotary keys & valve covers and it seems as though my wish list goes on and on... we'll have to wait and see what will be available.

Are those shift-paddles on the steering wheel? Those aren't standard on the slush-box are they?

Trip, great find! I gotta believe most of these items will find their way to America & Europe.

After all, Mazda believes half of their 1st year sales will be coming from us Americans.

i love the rear sun deflector and chrome stuff....those rotary valve stem covers are just waiting to be stolen though. i ended up buying 5 sets of chrome valve covers for my car, before i just gave up and left stems "naked".

thanks for all the pics by the way

Most likely there to prevent the rear door from scratching up the front door in case the front doors were closed before the rear doors.

The toy to HAVE is still the Rotary Key, I think. So Sweet.

The Coloured Rear view mirrors are also very nice, depends on which exterior colour you have chosen.

The two pads joined by wire might be static electricity release pads (have them on the MX-6 and they were on the MX-3). You touch them before you get out of the car and they prevent you getting those occasional static shocks from the body work.

The small black platic dots on the body i believe may be parking sensors as they seem to be mounted on the bumpers.

The first in dash screen looks like it is Mazda's new 3D navigation system rather than a DVD player.

The second in dash screen one looks like an even more advanced version.

Any body know anything about the replacement spring and damper sets.

Must haves for me, LED Gear ****, Vent Fins, Rotary Accent Package, Chrome Rearview Mirror, Chrome Exahust Trims and Remote Start might be fun.

You're piqued my curiosity - why "must have"? Do you somehow suddenly forget where the gears are at night?
Come to think of it, does anyone ever actually need to read the gearknob to know where the next gear is?

Personally, I'd go for the rotor-shaped **** instead.

Looks like a handsfree phone kit to me. The larger piece has a speaker for sure, and the widget with the three buttons looks like on/off hook and volume up/down.

I think the led gear shifter is simply "cool factor" it adds to the mystique of the RX-8 in my opinion. The interior is so unique I feel the lighted shifter just adds to the ambiance of the cockpit.

I'll actually be looking at the shifter quite a bit considering the reverse position is in the opposite position of my current reverse position

And I'm getting a red interior, it just fits.

then again, it's going to come down to cost i'm sure. it would make a great stocking stuffer.

I think HDD means "High Definition Display". I wonder if you can have one of these puppies retro-fitted if you didn't take the Nav option?

I really want to know where the Start button is placed. If it goes where the key is located where will the key go.

The led shifter is also a must have.
