6000k hid are nice. They are damn bright.

 

at the risk of sounding ridiculously stupid.....are HIDs synonomous with Xenons?

 

That's cool, I had upgraded to 6k a while back. Looks great buddy.

 

Pretty much. HID stands for High Intensity Discharge. Xenon's the gas that's inside the bulb. I think... :D

 

Are those just bulbs or is it a kit ? I want to get brighter ones but dont know if to buy the ballast and bulb or just bulb.

 

you would NOT get "brighter" lights from buying a higher temp 'k' HID bulb....

the stock bulbs used in ALL OEM HID equipped vehicles are 4000-4500 which produces the MOST lumens (measure of light output).

if you want to get a little purple or blue hue to have nicer HIDs....then by all means go buy some 6k D2S HID bulbs to replace the stockers....thats what im doing too..... but anything over 8k....just forget about it..... its just color color color....not much usable light.

I, myself am going to pick up some Phillips Ultinon 6k bulbs.....theyre supposed to be the best bulbs on the market..... but of course compared to other bulbs...its price is on the HIGH side...

there are many other cheaper alternatives of course

 

No, can't you read the stock bulbs are the best 4 to 5k range.
