245WPH w/o FI
So I found this video on YouTube... not sure if it belongs to a member here..
If you click on his other video's, in one he specifies 245WHP without FI. IMO, this doesn't seem quite right. He does have an 'impressive' list of mods;
"mods are.....light weight wheels, custom intake, ported and polished throttle body, bhr ignition, mazmart water pump, sohn adapter, act prolite flywheel, act clutch, greddy oil pan, underdrive pullies, koyo radiator, racing beat header, dual resonated midpipe, greddy sp2 exhaust, short shifter, and rb race flash. Engine is running on stock internals. Roughly 15,000 on this new engine. Also full suspension work and brakes. Def. one of best running n/a's out there."
What are your thoughts? From this vid and another of his, it is definitely faster than a regular N/A Renesis.
EDIT: Just realized I messed up on the typing for the title. Mean WHP, obviously. Just trying to type too fast

He is likely using a mobile device that is calculating his HP and thinks it means WHP not crank HP.
Several of those things DO help power, but not to the tune of 12hp (5.1%) higher than a fully funded race team with thousands of R+D hours on all parts of the engine, anti-friction coatings on all drivetrain parts, and a $30,000 ECU that has posted the highest NA power on the forums.

That's true... but....
This seems viable. But he also claims "Almost 300hp at the crank". But for an exact number like 245, I'm guessing his numbers are only an assumption based on claimed gains by each particular aftermarket item; which we all know is never quite the reality

The owner is FOS if he thinks his car is putting down 245whp.
This is what he posted on one of his other vids.
I removed alot of **** and replaced existing with lightweight wheels....just wheels, spare and battery i lost almost 65 pounds...I replaced alot of parts. I know someone with a scrap yard and that's what it weighed with half tank and no driver.......so ill run with it.......and it is pretty quick buddy.....weight makes much difference..

245 hp to the wheel. Almost 300 at crank. All n/a. Car is 2845 lbs.

Zoom Zoom
The highest N/A whp I've seen was 218 whp / 183wtq and many people said getting any higher is almost impossible. He had much more mods than this guy has. There is a dyno of it somewhere on here but I cant remember where.

I've dyno'd at almost 210whp but we had a car at last year's SoCal Dyno Day put down 218 whp. The motor was freshly rebuilt by the owner, was ported and had a ton of NA mods.

If you don't go that route, then the most you can expect is about 200 whp without a custom engine rebuild, which can run you $5,000+ once you factor in the labor of pulling and reinstalling the engine and the shipping. The advancements in porting work have been slow coming, but they are still moving the needle upwards.
BDC has taken the new top N/A dyno (non-race team funded) posted on 5/16/2011 here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/bdc-street-port-vs-stock-port-dyno-comparison-216762/ 223whp:
Please note that "heavy" has not been defined as of this edit. The gains are from more than 1 source. Likely full 3 inch headers to tips on the exhaust, entirely unknown what the intake is. The porting work above was mostly on the intake ports rather than the exhaust ports. There was also likely significant improvement in the seal tolerances over factory specs.
Eric Meyer posted his 233hp dyno sheet here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/233-rwhp-dyno-sheet-218322/
But keep in mind that it's likely his team invested $100,000+ (just a guess) into the R+D of the engine and drivetrain to get it there (including special treatments of the transmission and diff to reduce drivetrain loss)

SR Motorcars to be exact.
I've used that shop for years and have literally dyno'd over 100 RX-8's on it so I'd say it's pretty accurate.
oh, and that's where AEM dyno's their cars as does BMI and their nifty 4 rotor rx8.
not sure about the rest but there definitely can be variances from dyno to dyno based on location and even what type of dyno. mustang vs dynojet differ quite a bit as well.

get it right *******, it was 1,500 whp but that was running nitro meth so that doesn't really count.

lol...without FI? no way man...
just thinking we are making 232 hp to the crank,
if u can get close to that, is very impressive
but if u are talking abt with ANY FI mod, just bolt on mods,
and u can get more whp than what u got on the crank? that's impossible IMO
