Finally got my car back after the accident, the next day already at the shop putting on some of the parts i had laying around.

This is going to be the official build thread that will be updated periodically with new mods when they are installed! Stay Tunned!

When i bought these the vendor said it will fit on the 2007's, well the metal bracket/brace, didn't fit on the bigger rubber, it was two short. I fab up a litt;e something but i couldn't do the same for the front, so only the rears are on now until I can get a longer brace. I'll call tomorrow.

i personally like those oem amber corners and no strakes
just detailing the car makes it stand out better than body kits

Tints are coming this week, and the rims will be installed once i find a decent set of tires, then in a month or so the carbon fiber will start to flow in, like i said just stay tuned =)

Are you using the mid pipe with the stock exhaust? Does it fit well? Coz I read from the Turbo XS website, they say that it doesn't fit with stock exhaust.

god, i'm in love this color.

It did require some modifications, grinding down the little rivet on the stock catback pipe that goes to the big muffler can on the back so i could twist it to align with the turboxs mid pipe, took 5 mins to mod. nothing major.

Im starting to love it to, when i first got it i wished i got white, but now i like =)

UPDATE 2/4/08

Apexcone 8000k HID's


Install went pretty easy until, I moved over to the passenger side, and i pulled the metal clip to release the stock bulb down instead of in first, and now i need a new headlight housing for it. So, I'm riding with one hid in now lol. Will be done this weekend

Hahaha well the one looks nice....

no way. the blue looks wayyy hotter, and probably photographs a hell of a lot better with all the deep shadows the shade gives.

My first 8 was white. I loved it. 2005 and in my opinion it was the best color available at the time. When I first saw a stormy blue driving down the road I fell in love with that color. I'm not saying I'm glad my white 8 go totaled but now that everything has sorted out and I have a stormy blue 2008... yeah... pretty happy guy. :) This color just looks to insanely good in any light. It really is awesome. At night it looks black and in the daylight depending on the amount of sunlight it looks all kinds of crazy shades of blue.

hmm indeed it does, i am truly starting to love it, but just in the beginning, i didn't no what parts would match and what not but i think i have it all figured out, just time will tell.... well.. and money.. of course :squint:

i saw it for the first time in a dim parking lot while it was raining and thought it was purple or that someone had it custom painted. but then i went home and looked it up and it's been one of the color choices i'm yearning for for my next car.

Ok you had me until you said you were going to get the Turbo XS exhaust. That exhaust is ass and their refusal to extend the pipes a little longer to fit the US cars better has pissed off many people here. I suggest you get a different exhaust.

Regardless that its a little short i can always weld my own tips in. and polish it up. The exhaust produce more then most at a reasonable price, thats just how i look at it. I don't mind doing the extra modifications.

Question, When i reset my ECU after the midpipe install my check engine light went on! Please tell me this is normal beacuase i deleted the cat and the O2 sensor is just bugging. Anyway to get the light off by tuning the ecu?

haha i have the full exhaust and the only time it went off is when i had a fatty exhaust leak lmao. Right when i got it fixed it went right back on. When Cobb makes the accessport for the rx8 they might have a setting for it.

put one those anthracite Enkei Evo6's yet? :lol2:

btw, no way to remove the light except using a supercat

Sorry for the bad pics, I'll clean the car and take more tomorrow! I like the wheels, makes it look very aggressive.. keep in mind I'm getting a carbon fiber hood and trunk to go with it when those tax returns come in!

They are the easiest and cheapest mod to do that makes a huge difference in overall appearance.

If the f-ing weather clears tomorrow enough for me to wash my car and take a few pictures I'll post them. My Stormy Blue now has the OEM spoiler installed (I know... not a big deal), clear corners, and 20% tint on the windows. Even with those minor changes it looks better than it did when it rolled off the lot.

Now if only my tax return would hurry the hell up and hit my bank account we could move onto more serious things.

clear coners look ricey cheap in my opinion. that's the last thing i would change

^^ really? i think that the clear corners would be the first thing to change since they make the car look sleeker. the yellow of the stock lights just have a weird contrast to the color of the car. but, like with everything else, to each their own :)

Which is why at first i didn't change them, i was looking at my car today and said.. "these side markers actually don't look bad at all" and i couln't picture clear corners on.. we will see though.

I know H-springs are barely a drop but honestly i don't want that low in the first place. I mean, even now i'm fine with.
