2005 Corvette and RX-8

My father-in-law just bought a new 2005 Corvette and brought it over to show me. Some of the options on this car are unbelievable. To open the door you just press a button inside the door and it electronically opens for you. It doesn't have a key either. They give you a pad that you keep in your pocket and it tells the car's computer that you can open the door or start the car. I also included a picture of the start button. No keys needed hear. The car is a rocket. I stepped on the gas and I thought the front end was going to come up. It is much nicer then any Corvette I have ever seen before. Take a look at the headlights. They look exotic. Well that is enough talking. Enjoy the pics. Hopefully, I can upload them properly. Here goes nothing.

Corvettes are unbelievably gorgeous. One day, I'll have an LS6-powered C4 and my GT35R-powered RX-8 in the same garage.

Personally I still prefer the exterior looks of the C5 slightly. The C6 may grow on me more with time though.

A friend at work just bought a new C5 for an amazingly low price. Great looking car on the exterior, but man the RX-8's interior was far superior. I can't believe what a Fisher-Price type of interior the C5 has. The C6 appears to be an improvement (but still not as good as the 8).

Thanks for the great response everyone. It is one bad *** car. That thing can get up and move.

Philodox, to answer your question about the tranny. I said the same thing, but he just doesn't want to be bothered with the manual transmission. Trust me, that car does not need any more power then it already has.

KN34, he still likes my car also. It isn't as fast, but he loves the styling of the 8.

Mikelikes2drive, thanks for the compliment on the clean car. I haven't waxed it since May, but it does have about 16 coates of liquid glass on it since I bought it last September. I plan to wax it again this weekend.

400HP V8..... what more do you need?

250HP (maybe?) 2Rotor ....... and a 9000rpm redline, that's what.

Hey, to each his own. I have never been a fan of automatics. I like having more control over my vehicle. When I eventually have kids and such, you bet i'm going to look for a mini-van that has stock.. hehe... The C6 is still a sweet car. If i had 20k more when I bought my RX-8, well.. I would be driving the C6... hehe

If the C6 was available in Singapore, I'd find a way to raise the extra dough. Too bad that Chev only sells the Australian version of the Lumina here. Is it too much to ask for Chev to retool the car so that the steering wheel is on the right? hehe Lol anyway, in Sing dollars the C6 would probably cost over $200k

I haven't bothered asking the company, but do you suppose one of the Rx-7 LS1 conversions might be able to work in the 8?

Hey quick question. I applied some liquid glass on my '03' altima and when the humidity hits here in tampa the car look like sh$t. I dont know how bad it gets in Cali. but here it makes the cars look horrible. Any suggestions on what to do. Or should I just get rid of it
