Read above post. It's coming off. Too much "fart" in the can.

mryoshi 11-11-2009 05:27 PM

Very cool. I'd much rather have that than a old muscle car. It should be emission exempt in CA too :)

PaPaBear 11-12-2009 06:56 AM

It's an addiction. Great find.

nice, mini-muscle car:)

8 Maniac 11-18-2009 08:49 PM

It'd be awesome to own one of those... Not even sure where I'd start if I was looking for one of those.

Earl the Pearl 11-18-2009 08:55 PM

The RX4 is very nice. Love the rotary symbol on the back.

altspace 11-19-2009 07:59 AM

^That's the trunk key hole cover. It swings open. ;) Also notice the rotary shape in the front emblem.

mazdaverx7 11-19-2009 10:43 PM

beautiful RX-4! hate the wheels and the fart can. nothing nostalgic about a muffler like that. glad to hear that its coming off though. i also love how the brake master cylinder is parrallel with the firewall. neat retro stuff! at any rate, love the spark yellow 79 with the 83 LE wheels!! your friend has great taste!!

altspace 11-20-2009 06:30 AM

Thanks. Yes, the LE was the donor car of many parts. Sadly it is not in any restorability condition. I should have taken a pic of it. Poor thing rusting away in the yard.

mazdaverx7 11-20-2009 07:13 AM

thats sad..i've restored a lot of RX-7's that would be soup cans by now, lol. personally i would've found a way to save the LE. only because its the 7 thats always eluded me. i've always wanted one, just never found the right deal or location.

california style 11-20-2009 08:31 AM

gorgeous car. Lucky man!

Very sad indeed, but trust me when I say 85% of the car is rust. The hood full of holes, floorboard gone, firewall gone, wheel wells gone, and so much more. A sad sight to see for sure.

ac3mastuh 11-20-2009 01:12 PM

that looks sweet, i really love the lines of those classic rotaries

Wankel1 11-20-2009 10:27 PM

That RX4 is priceless, There isn't too many out there. Is he selling it?

Guess what? He sold his Datsun 510 to buy the RX-4. Too funny.
