130k :)

It sure has been a while since I've posted and since my car hit the 130k mark I figured I'd submit a picture. My car has been through a lot, most people say I should have sold it a long time ago, however its like a kid, its grown on me. Here are some statistics.

My car is on its third engine, second transmission, second alternator, second radiator, 8th set of tires. Spent 45k in fuel, five year loan (paid off this month!), 4th battery, 2nd suspension tuning, been to the dealership a million times for service, oil changes ever 3k miles (43 of them now?). 4th radar detector (others stolen at dealership (1 at courtesy mazda in henderson nv along with an ipod), one in my garage, one retired, and one upgraded), 8 times pulled over, 3 of which turned into tickets(speeding), 4 times in to have paintless dent removal done, 0 times hit, 1 time bumped a ladies bumper (she was a bad driver and didnt pull over), 2nd windshield (1st one replaced 1 week after purchase).

Despite what people think can fit in the car, I transported a transmission from NV to CA to have it installed.

thats disgusting, i really hate that place, i had huge drama with them when i went to buy my rx8, in the end i had a huge arguement and walked out of the dealership with everyone else watching us. I ended up buying my 8 at Nissan.
But it sounds like youve been through a lot with your car

That's quite a history. Any regrets on the purchase?

Mazda North America has been a good group to work with about my problems. The only complaint I have is about my transmission, I had issues with it for quite some time. By the time it got diagnosed it was 100 or so miles over warranty, this of course included transportation to the place to have them look at it. This was with a third party warranty company which was sold by Browning Mazda.

The car was a good buy, it has taken me many places and I plan to do a cross country trip in it. Anyone want to sponsor my gas? Ill put your logos on my car

oOooo another statistic I forgot, the car has only been washed by hand, once a week. 260 times or so and mostly at the car wash in Irvine, Ca.

Zoom,

Thanks for sharing. Inasmuch as I'd like to say CONGRATS, my main concern for all of all of us is that Mazda gets the Renesis issues worked out BEFORE the 16X hits the market. I want the same kind of reliability that many Gen 2 owners experienced (many with over 200K miles and no engine issues) in a platform that delivers 250+ whp and good fuel economy (20+ city and 26 to 30 hwy). Most will say this is IMPOSSIBLE, but the future of the rotary engine depends on it!

First engine had a compression issue later issued recall and reimbursed me for it. The second replacement engine had a sidewall leak, noticed a week after installation.

zoom-zoom: you should come to the SB meet some time. It's about 45 minute drive from Irvine but worth it.

Sorry, random plug. Carry on...

next time you get a new tranny, go with a mazsport transmission. they are more durable.
