any closer up pics of the mazdaspeed and h&r? im deciding between both of those and the Eibach. anyone know the drop and spring rates of the MSpeed?
H&R will drop you more than MS. Mazdaspeed springs are a subtle drop, and yes those rates seem way off. Here is a guy that supposedly tested them at 180/100. http://idforums.net:4000/index.php?showtopic=32629 Eibach is similar to H&R in terms of drop, so it depends on how low you want to have your ride height. None of them are too compromising for DD though.
So is It worth it to run sprint springs on stock shocks? Or buy some oem shocks at the same time? Im just getting started working on cars...especially my Rx8. I've only got to do some diy cosmetic stuff
No, it's not worth it, run a set of Koni Yellow struts with the Sprint springs. Reason being is that Sprint will drop you more than just about any spring out there. The Koni is shorter than the stock Tokico, which will work great with the Sprint springs. Check out Speeddemon32's old car, he ran this setup and autox'd it.
Autox'd it? Sorry I dunno much of anything but that's why im here so I can learn...will I have to modify the wheel well by dropping it 2 inches with the sprint springs and koni yellows? Say I put on 18x8 wheels just like stock size...what tires could I put on that wouldn't rub?

What I would do is run a 245/40/18 sticky tire. You will not have to modify the wheel well, keep in mind that offset will make a difference as well as width as far as clearance is concern. If you have any more questions I can explain in more detail, PM me so we don't clutter up the thread.
my setup, i think should be added to the front since its not listed.
Sprint Springs on 40th anniversary Bilstein shocks, 18x8 oem rims on 225's.
2inch drop, no rubbing....but im not running spacers at the moment, too broke.
I want MOAR pics!! and i spent like an hour reading this thread, got halfway through, decided I like RS*R springs on stock, and then i read they are discontinued?
Hey guys so here is my current setup. I have 18x8.5s ET45 and 255/40 tires. I just installed the Koni Yellows and a set of Tanabe GF210 drop springs after i failed Pa safety inspection for a broken stock spring. I thought i just had a-lot of sagging but nope haha. SO i kinda rushed my order and didnt plan it out as well as i normally do. I love the way the car handles and looks however with the roads in the area; western PA, more pot holes, and graidiant changes than smooth road its not working out. I am not getting any wheel well rubbing, but i am hearing lots of front fascia scraping, I don't want that. I am going to install a set of Racing Beat springs ASAP to raise the ride back up a bit. Not that i don't like how she looks now. That being said any one interested in the Tanabe GF210's they have literally been on the car less than a week....
