*New* Painted Emblems and Frosted Corners
 

I had a request to post the pictures of my car with the my emblems now painted black as well as the new frosted corners i installed from RotaryFX. O and i also installed the black roof strakes as well.

nice! looks clean, but i guess you need more black to accent the black emblems.

P.S. get rid of those vortex generators!

well yea as you can see it still has the dealer plates because i just got it not to long ago.

Im still going to tint the windows and smoke the tail lights as well.

Why should i get rid of them? i think they look good, and i like that it is one more black thing on the car as well. I really dont think they look that bad. i realize they are cheap but its not like they look horrible

well i dont know, they kind of stand out too much [really doesnt flow with the curves]
and too Evo"ish"

Nice looking 8, the new ones look more meaner, except for the evo'ness lol's... the rx8 looks sooooooooo much better and cleaner without stick ons, leave those to the people who whish they had an evo

Those evo vortex generators aren't even on correctly. You look like your missing one on the passengers side. I have to agree with everyone else that it's not a good fit for the 8...but it's your car, even if you make 8's look bad. jk :smoker:

On a positive note, everything else is looking good.

I think if you are going to leave the vortex generators on... you should at least place them evenly... like straighten them up and space them out evenly.

I like that white and black look... Emblems look good.

Take that junk on your roof off or line it up right, then put the "-" back on between the X and 8 and you're set :bottom:

Yes i realize i messed up the placement lol, i thought i had it right and when i got to the end i realzied i messed up, they are coming off no matter what because of that spacing error i just havent done it yet. I was just debating possibly buying them again and trying to place them correctly but now i c your guys point, it is way to evo'ish so they will be off today.

Anyways my spoiler gets here on the 3rd so then ill have that and with the spoiler their i wont care about the vortex generators.

Getting my rims painted is next on the agenda, i really like the stock 18's i dont see anything wrong with them but they MUST be black.

i just put them on 2 days ago and my spoiler gets here on the 3rd so i was just waiting until im installing that on thursday to take them off.

Oh and the reason i dont have the dash between the RX and 8 on the trunk is because i put them back on at my buddies house and when i was putting them on i realized i had forgotten the dash, turns out it stuck to the piece of newspaper i was painting them on.

When i got home i found the newspaper and it was stuck to it, again im just waiting until i work on my car on thursday and i will be re-applying that as well

Well ive already stated they are coming off but if they werent the generators would be feeding air to my rear wing that will be here on the 3rd. But regardless they will b coming off on thursday.

Yeah those vortex generators don't do much unless you have a huge wing. And the RX8 is too clean for both of those things :)

15k per year is not excessive. The car is 5 years old and it was obviously a DD.

No its not some rediculous spoiler, just the regular spoiler Mazda puts on them i really like that one. This one just didnt have one with it.

Yea 75k is pretty high but at pdxhak said it is a 5 year old car now. It runs great and im getting about 250 miles per tank and im not experiencing any problems. And even if i do i have a 2 year 24k mile warranty still and ive only used 1k miles off of it.

I absolutly looooove this car! Couldnt be happier.

Yea im not going to overdue it, i had alot of ideas and then once i put on the roof strakes i realized that this car isnt meant to have a whole bunch a BS tacked onto it. So now ive let those ideas go and taking the dumb things off the roof

I like the frosted corners, and had actually been looking at my rear clusters and wondering if something like that was feasible back there as well.

Yea im just debating because now that i have the frosted corners i kind of want the stealth ones instead... Because i went black with the emblems and i was going to smoke the tail lights as well.

I was also going to put either carbon fiber or just black strakes on the front air vents. I really like the black accent look on a white car, ESPECIALLY an 8!

Black stuff on a white eight is straight sex. Get some nice black rims, then you're set.

I agree with everyone thus far that S#*! on your roof has got to go. I also have a white 8 and mine did not have a spoiler when I purchased it. I personally don't like the mazda spoilers so I went with the rear lip spoiler. Take a look at my profile, the rear lip spoiler is nasty!

Did you already purchase the spoiler? If not then you may want to start a swap thread in your region or in the for sale section. I'm sure you will find someone that wants to trade trunks.

Yea i purchased it like 2 weeks ago, i actually just looked at fedex 10 seconds ago and it is on a truck on its way to deliver it to my house.

I had no idea that someone would actually trade a trunk with a spoiler for a trunk witthout one... does that seriously happen?

Think it took me 6+ months to find someone willing to swap my trunk with spoiler for theirs. For those that want to go without spoiler or another aftermarket spoiler that uses different holes or the MS spoiler then it saves them several hundred dollars to swap. To properly fill the holes they needed to be welded shut and the trunk needs to be painted inside and outside.

As i promised the strakes are off the roof and i put the spoiler on no problem.
