****Painted the Bose Tweeter Area****

Got to thinking while in the car with my girlfriend the other night as to why Mazda Didn't paint the Tweeter Area To Match the Vents. Well I decided to do it and to my surprise I think it looks pretty good. They should have done from the factory!

Besides the Tweeters turning out good, I get to bring my 8 in early(Tomorrow) to RP Performance in Manassas VA to have the Racing Beat Clutch, Flywheel and Pressure Plate installed. They said if I bring it in at 7am I will get it back the same day. Can't wait to feel the difference!

How do you all like the Color Matching on the Tweeters with the Vents?

Anyone have the Racing Beat Cutch Setup installed and if so feel any differences?

That looks great, very nice and clean. Really matches the car. Did you use touch up paint or what did you use to do that? I might think about doing that since I too have SS 8.

While you're at RP, tell them to ship me my Supercat Pipe! lol, I just ordered it tonight and I'm excited to get it.

Keep us informed, looks nice, great job.

No, I didnt use touch up paint. I'll post a pic this weekend of the stick I used. I went to a Hobby Shop a couple of miles down from me and picked out the best color match I could. It turned out to look exactly the same as the vents silver color. I'll post the pic tomorrow or Saturday of the Paint Stick. It was kinda like a pen. Paint went on well just had to be a little careful.

I'll most def keep you guys informed on the RB Clutch Setup. I've heard nothing but positive things about their products.

Woke up a little earlier this morning to take a picture of the Paint Pen.

It's Made by Testors, The Color is called Silver Argent and the part # is 2546C. I think it was like $3 and some Change.

Heres a Link on their Website: http://www.testors.com/catalog_item.asp?itemNbr=1442

I can't tell what you did. The silver rim around the tweeter? It looks so professional, I can't spot what you painted. Good job....

It was idea I thought of a couple of weeks back and thought I should do it and see what it looks like. I'm Glad it turned out so well and that the color matched. My buddy thought I had to professionally done as well.

To add a note, I Also had the Racing Beat Clutch, Flywheel and Pressure Plate installed today as well. Right off the bat you can tell the difference in the height at which the clutch now catches, the response time of pressing on the gas pedal and the rate of speed in which you reach high RPM's.

I'm still in the Break in Period and the owner at RP Performance told me that it may take a couple of hundred miles for it to fully set it. Also said Racing Beat has a different kind of metal on the Flywheel that makes noise during the Break In Period or until it is fully worked in with the clutch.(I can definitely hear it and it Does seem to be slowly going away like he said).

If any of you have the money I high suggest the Racing Beat Clutch Setup.

Looks very nice, I think I might have to take your idea and run with it! Did you mask anything off/remove anything or just paint it in place as it was? Nice job and thanks for sharing!

Has anybody mentioned yet that those AREN'T tweeters? They're mid-range speakers.

Nice idea though!

I didn't mask anything I messed up once or twice but I was able to get the paint off. You might want to towards the circle part. The Bose name was pretty easy to do, just run over the top of it with the pen softly.

Yeah I took it off of the door and unscrewed the tweeter from the plastic so I could work on them from inside where the light is bright.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure those are Tweeters. I thought the speakers lower on the door play mids and lows? I have no idea what the speaker in the middle of the dash does tho.
