i like the interior, gauge cluster.... but thats about it, i think our 8's look much better

 

The interior is full of FAIL

 

^ well i like our's better for DD, but that looks cooler if it was a track car. i do like the hump on the dash rather then the 2 lines we have (go out and look if you dont know what i mean)

it makes our dash-radio look to much like a weird shape for me.... also i dig the 12k tac, thats sexy

i like the steering wheel to.

if the exterior of the 8 looked like that when i was looking for a car - i would've thrown up on it and bought a Z....

 

and the ladies here at this forum should be thankful. if he didnt buy the 8, he would be leghumping the the z forum chicks. so be thankful that didnt happen

 

Z chicks FTL - i know a couple and the eye candy is there - but they're pretty blan inside just like their interior

 

I like that the tach goes to 12k rpms...

did anyone else notice that it's rolling on 20's? according to the info page that is

 

i wish we would have got a big brake system. Ive seen a picture of that car on a track before next to a mazda race car.

 

Seeing the Evolv concept reminds me of the '95 RX-01 concept. Never understood the popped collar/shoulder blades and the back looks a little goofy these days. I remember wanting those wheels for my FC.

 

I totally wish the RX-01 made it instead of the RX-8. Rotaries belong in small cars.

According to the RX-8 book by Yamaguchi, the "popped collar" is because it was supposed to be a targa or drop top.

 

Just be glad we have the 8 and they didnt cancel it. Now lets hope mazda does what they do best and make a kick *** replacement for the 8 and we go out and buy it and complain haha.

 

There are a lot of really cool things in that interior... like the HUD and the Aeroform inspired seats.

Anyone that has ever sat in a Aeroform chair knows how comfortable for all day sitting that would be.

The RX-01 was Japan's replacement for the FD while the Project P007 which became the RX-Evolve was Mazda America's version of the replacement for the FD.

Makes you wonder how the FD fan bois would have liked the tiny 4 seater RX-01 with it's 200 HP 13BMSP engine and no turbos if it got picked.

 

looks like a 90s vette and an old saturn sc had a baby....LOLOLOLOOL

 

wish they had kept the round central air vents and the factory brakes and the led tails...

 

not only the comfort but the extra legroom in the backseat would have great. Those seats are amazing

 

This thread is great for two reasons:
1) The laughter invoked by the "corvette pictures"
2) The concept pictures included

I, for one, had never seen the interior pictures. Any more concept car pics/data available? I <3 the 01 as well...

edit: Holy cow, look at that shifter...

 

I want a HUD! And a tach that goes to 12k! I wonder if that was just eye candy or if they actually considered a redline that high. The rest of the interior, though, is yuck. Too much bling and not enough class.

Interesting to see how those tacky tail lights evolved. I feel better knowing that a lot of the tackiness was removed from the car before production That steering wheel, wow, chrome around the outside edge? Really? Were they designing the car for drivers, or pimps?
