I've seen the 8 recognized as a 4-door sports coupe in numerous magazines.

 

Mercedes tried to get a concurrent model for the (ugly, but successful) BMW 6 series up and running asap. Seen it in person quite a few times here. The side windows are OK - if you want to use the car as a letter box.

MB is trying to fill out every niche in the market at the moment (they're about to change that though), which won't work imho. They should re-occupy the quality thing instead of having more models than customers ...

 

That's only a coupe because someone stepped on a sedan and made it lower

 

I don't really think Mercedes was targetting the 6 series with this one. They are completely different cars to serve different purposes. I don't think we have to wory about mercedes either, they will sell a bunch of these.

that doesn't make any sense. They're no more like minivans then the 8 is like motorcycle.

I prefer to refer to the 8's layout as "extended cab" as opposed to coupe or saloon.

 

4-door alot cheeper to insure than a 2-door Just another reason I love my rx8.

 

DAMN!.........that black one is tight..........see what some lowering springs and $10,000 in rims and tires can do to a ugly car :D

 

man, half the time that Mercedes looks slightly ok, the other half of the time it looks terrible! I think for my hard-earned (piles of) cash, I'd get something a little easier on the eyes...

 

I like the way you think. The 8 is kinda like a motorcycle, it does have seats, suspension, gas powered and many other similarities, good find friend

 

mercendes is calling it a coupe, but they are also calling it a sedan

The naming convention of Mercendes (as i saw this on a documentry about Mercendes)
C = Coupe
S = Sedan
K = smaller
L = I forgot
